  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lost fob inside 2021 G70. Car starts and drives normally, doors will not lock, so key is inside but no amount of crawling and bending can find it.

Really? It’s under warranty that the dealer must find a key that you lost in your car? How do they do that?
It's covered under the concierge service.
They'll probably come to your house and find it for you.

Sadly, several times I have had keys in my hand with previous "key required" vehicles and as I bent into the trunk to retrieve or place something I relaxed my grip on keys and when I closed the trunk...OOOPS

If you can’t see it...I assume it’s underneath one of the front seats.

Perhaps use a really strong magnet attached to a stick, etc...and just sweep around with it?

This happened to me a few months back.... however I was able to lock the door with the other fob. I couldnt lock the doors by pushing the button on the handle but it would lock by pushing the lock button on the other fob. You can lock the door with the Genesis App too if you really need to lock it.

I have the same problem dropping Reese’s Pieces into my recliner.

My advice is to find a nimble child/teenager to hunt for it. Then get them to clean the inside your windshield and rear window.

We could be getting them from the same store here in Midlothian, VA. The Dollar Store next to Home Depot on Midlothian TPK has a pretty good supply. 🤣

Since the fob isn't somewhere obvious, it's probably under or beside a seat, assuming it's not hidden somewhere in the truck, which has several places for things to hide. Rather than trying to bend and look under the seats (tough on my back), I use my phone to video as I point it underneath the seat. I've found other stuff that way. It helps to have a bright flashlight too - you may see a glint off the fob.

The idea about driving to the dealer isn't as crazy as it sounds. They may have other methods to locate a fob, though I don't know if this would be covered under warranty. Good luck.

That’s exactly where my daughter got them!!!! This morning to boot.

I live near JRHS.

I’ve had that same problem when my keys fall in between the seat. I’ve found them after 20 minutes on the seat track the the seat slides back and fourth on and covered by the bottom seat material. After recovery, I keep them in my back pocket along with band aides since once you go under there with bare hands, you’ll more than likely cut them up on the underneath parts of the seat.

Proactively have an electronic tag like Tile attached to my keys has helped me out numerous times. Worth its weight in gold.

Dealer can also re-program FOBs. They can clear the present one out, sell you a new factory FOB and then rematch FOBs back to the car. Won’t be cheap though. Some day the old one will turn up when your not looking for it. Add a ‘remove before flight’ red streamer to your FOBs to help locate in crevices if that should happen again.

Purchased two of those seat space fillers from Amazon that get stuffed into the space between both front seats and console. Eliminated anything falling into that space or onto seat track.

How the seat filler work with the automatic moving seats everytime you open and close door?

The new G80 has those fillers attached to the seats - no gap between seat and console. The attachment is an inch or two below the seat.
