  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lost fob inside 2021 G70. Car starts and drives normally, doors will not lock, so key is inside but no amount of crawling and bending can find it.

4 bolts/nuts hold the seat in. Easy to remove and look

How the seat filler work with the automatic moving seats everytime you open and close door?
No issues. Slides right along without bunching

Dealer can also re-program FOBs. They can clear the present one out, sell you a new factory FOB and then rematch FOBs back to the car. Won’t be cheap though. Some day the old one will turn up when your not looking for it. Add a ‘remove before flight’ red streamer to your FOBs to help locate in crevices if that should happen again.

I'm a Giants fan, but was rooting for the Bucs yesterday. Same as I root for the Rays once the Yankees are out of it.

^ hey, OT but how’s the 2.5T working out for you? Compare it to your old 3.8. Quicker, slower, sound, responsiveness, fuel economy, etc?

It only has 350 miles on it, so it's too short to tell. It's not slower, though I haven't pounced on it yet. I'm kind of old school and like to let engines settle in a bit before punching it. Accelerating from a stop doesn't sound louder, just different. I'm surprised how good the engine feels for such a heavy car. I don't think I'll miss the six at all.

Regarding fuel mileage, the other day I thought it sucked, especially compared to my wife's new 2021 Audi Q5 Prestige. I pulled her car out of the garage last week and saw she was averaging over 25 mpg around town. The car has about 800 miles on it. My car was showing just under 20 mpg, worse than my 3.8. Going out to dinner that night - about 22 miles round trip travelling about 50 mph with some lights, the trip info showed just under 31 mpg. I'm pleased with that. The 20 mpg, I remembered, had a LOT of time idling in the driveway setting up the car and learning the new tech.

Overall, I'm much more pleased with the 21 G80 over the 18 G80.

I’ve had that same problem when my keys fall in between the seat. I’ve found them after 20 minutes on the seat track the the seat slides back and fourth on and covered by the bottom seat material. After recovery, I keep them in my back pocket along with band aides since once you go under there with bare hands, you’ll more than likely cut them up on the underneath parts of the seat.
Can you elaborate what you mean by on the seat track “covered by the bottom seat material”? I just lost my key two days ago and is at the point where I want to take out the seats. 😓

You can lock your car with the other fob, so you know. But it has to be with the fob, not touching the door handle (but you can unlock it from the handle). Finally, raise the seat all the way up and forward, and look under there from the rear seat with a flashlight. It should be there somewhere... if it fell there.

The mechanism that the driver seat slides back and forth on. Sometimes the fob would fall so deep in there that it’s difficult to find, but more than likely that’ll be where it is.

THEY FOUND IT! hopefully this helps someone find theirs. It was inside of the AC vent underneath the driver seat. They removed the driver seat and popped the ac vent out to retrieve it. Cost me around $130.
