  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lost these features all at once

Recently lost my ability to manually enter destinations on my GPS, hands free calling/recieving, radio presets and auto engine shut off/restart all at the same time. Occasionally the start stop will come on for a few minutes then go out again. Spoke to dealer and they said I should be able to manually enter addresses into to GPS but not verbally as I lost the voice activation feature at the 3 year ownership mark. (That’s another issue I’m annoyed about!).

It sounds like your car's communication module has failed. This is a common unit that controls the GPS input, Bluetooth, and other connected features.

The dealer is correct that the voice activation is a subscription service, but the manual entry should work. The fact that you lost all those unrelated features at once points directly to a hardware failure in that module.

You'll need to have the module diagnosed. A specialist independent shop will likely be much cheaper than the dealer for this repair.
