Washed my car today. The lower windshield weather stripping decided to flop off! PICS BELOW. I jimmied back in but it's not gonna stay long. Can I glue it? Is it that important or just for looks? It does feel dry for a rubber piece so I googled replacements but to no avail. All the searches lead to side or door trim/stripping. Hunted around on HKG parts sites, nothing. Anyone know the part number?
WARNING. Angry rant alert:
I am so $%^& sick of this car. It has all the bones to be great but the quality has been utterly pathetic and I've had nothing but problems the 2.5 years I've owned it. Clean title, no accidents, currently only has 32k miles!!! It's been into the dealer at minimum 15 times. Last year they had it nearly 2 months. This year has been a bunch of short, frustrating visits (like a near 5 hour oil change). Extra frustrating when the dealer is 30 miles away.
I've counted at least 12 different parts that were covered under warranty but now it's expired. Oh, that number doesn't include 4 (yes, FOUR) infotainment screens in 18 months!!! Sunroof replaced, sunroof trim 3 (three!) times, seatbelt retractor, center console lid, door weatherstripping, pins sticking out thru the passenger seat leather (seriously!), HVAC controls replaced 2 times, faded headlight, headliner squeaks 2x (due to terrible techs when 'repairing' the sunroof), wheel well trim, transmission resets, brake vibrations thanks to shite factory pads (I eventually had to install ECB pads and rotors to fix it). There's more, that's just the off top of my head!
I've had more problems w/ this car in 2.5 years than ALL my cars combined in over 20+ years of ownership- including German and American and cars I've tracked. If I hadn't lost so much resale thanks to hail damage while sitting outside at the dealer (yay...) to get fixed last year and invested in repairs since warranty expired, it'd be long gone. I'm so damn close to sucking up the loss and dumping the car. It pisses me off as the car is so damn good when it is good. But everytime I turn around it's 2 more things. <grumble grumble>
