  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is NOT good

Car did it to me AGAIN ......

Raced in gear when I downshifted to 3rd - and slammed HARD into gear on the highway.........causing the car to chirp it's tires.

No fault code or lights coming on

and the car rides fine -

but this should not be happening

I'm calling Hyundai

then I'm seriously considering trading the car in :(

So are you saying the tranny slipped?? The car won't read any codes if this is the case, and sorry to hear about the issue. It is the 1st year of a new product, so kinks are possible. Also, just take it to the dealer, the warranty is ridiculous on the powertrain.

You left out the speed you were traveling. Any issue if you leave it in auto mode?

auto mode is tolerable - minor issue if i get on it

i was doing about 60 - give or take

Im not a happy camper

If you can duplicate this for the dealer, it should be an easy fix. If not, enjoy your next new car. Personally I would give the car an Hyundai a chance.

Still have the car - just driving it in regular mode - and staying away from tiptronic :(

So far - so good

guess I will give the car and Hyundai a chance after all :)

I hope they come out with a supercharged or turbo charged version of the Tau engine.

Rumors are going around about a 5.5 liter twin turbo Tau engine producing over 600 hp for Hyundai's new M5 fighter in a few years - with a base price around $80 - $90,000

Hyundai won't confirm this of course - but i am willing to bet that it happens
