  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All,

Bought a 2020 3.3L recently, I opted for AWD due to occasional snow. But stuff like this is giving me some buyers remorse:

I've seen a few reviews like the one above saying the AWD feels less fun and more reserved than the RWD version.

I have a couple Qs:

1. People who have driven both (preferably the pre facelift versions that both have the LSD), are they really that different? Is it alot more engaging driving the RWD day to day?

2. Is there anything I can do to make my AWD feel more like the RWD version? I've heard of pulling the AWD fuse but I don't know if there are other major differences between the 2 models besides wheel power distribution and tires.

I have a 2023 G70 Sport Prestige awd G70. LOVE THE CAR! I have the awd systembecause of the Northeast winters.

Have you tried driving the car in SPORT or SPORT + mode? It really wakes the car up. Plus, with the awd system will leave the rwd in the dust at a red light.
I hope this helps.

My GV60 Performance model is AWD but is rear wheel drive biased. When one accelerates it typically applies power to all four wheels. But once one is cruising, it defaults back to RWD. There is a power distribution widget on the GV60 which shows me which wheels are being powered and by how much (graphically). Most of the time I am driving in RWD mode. I normally drive in sport mode or "my mode". In the latter case, I have set everything I can to sport mode so it is either in or close to sport mode either way.

There is also an electronic LSD but I believe it only applies to the rear wheels.

But my car has two equal motors, one on each axle. Some EVs come with a less powerful motor on one of the axles and that could produce a different result.

Yup, exactly.
The G70 awd cars are the same rwd biased.
