Manufacture Date!

Visited my Dealer today with a friend, and spotted a beautiful 2009 Pearl White V8 sitting there. Looked it over, then I checked out the Manufacutre Date.

June 5th, 2009. Wow. Today is July 14th. How did they make it on June 5th, get it to a ship, have the ship come to a US Port, transport it to a US Distribution Center, then to a Dealer, all in five weeks.

Also, surprised that it is a 2009, not a 2010.

Ships are moving much faster these days. My V8 was made on Oct 11, 2008. I picked it up on Oct 31, 2008!

Are we sure these plates aren't being stamped/attached at the port? I know shipping has come a long way, but less than twenty days to come from S. Korea to your driveway?

Hey, don't misunderstand. That was a car on the dealers lot that we were looking at.

(My car had a build date of Sept. 18th, 2008 and I purchased it on Jan. 10th 2009)

"Your driveway" was loosely used in my original post. At any rate, that is still extremely fast to get anywhere beyond a port of entry.
