got an email today that my Map & Multi-Media OTA Subscription is expiring this month and that I should update my credit card information. Anyone know what the cost of this renewal is and is it worth it?

That is sort of a relative question. What is it worth to YOU? Do you use it? Do you know what features it has?
If you decide to renew, be sure to call connected services yourself. Do NOT do it online.
Also if you do use it and let it expire, it can be a pain to get it restarted.

In my opinion the map update to the built in GPS is useless.
What features does the multimedia include?
Will the car receive fixes, new features over the air with the subscription expired?

Since you have already made up your mind, are your questions rhetorical?
I think the native nav is better than CarPlay. I can use the dial to zoom instead of fiddling with the screen it’s a whole lot easier to change destinations also.

As much as I dont like the built in gps, I wouldnt want to lose car fixes or new features OTA.

Looking at my Connected Services account, it shows $25/yr for the Map OTA service. Personally I would consider that worthwhile for the convenience of doing over-the-air updates.

The Advanced tier (DigitalKey2, remote climate) is more expensive (maybe $99/yr?) - I like the convenience, but I’m not sure I’ll renew that when the free trial expires.

Yeah, it’s not easy. I found it by accident. If I click on “Add subscriptions” then it shows me that price - but for some reason only for that one and not for the Advanced tier, even though both are set to auto-renew. Confusing.

System OTA is free forever. Only the map expires and $25 a year for the convenience is worth it provided there is a guaranteed update at a minimum of once a year. Models before 2023 get map updates free forever I believe.
