  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just wondering what the thoughts are on this topic and when do you think the update will become available? I have noticed on other threads for other Hyundai products, they have had similar issues. I think those are resolved now. I have been doing a lot of research on updating the map software because my map software version is what shipped with the car in 2015. So it is pretty out of date.

I am open to suggestions or if you know of ways to get updates now. Thanks

You can update for free today. But the new ones state clearly on their website and download pages that new versions "usually" hit around March. So, it is now March. With patience you will see a new version by end of the month.

Thanks for your speedy reply Alfer! I will probably wait until the new ones come out at the end of the month. It does say on Hyundai MnSoft's website that they are currently working on the issues. Does it usually say that before an update is released? There's a chance that it isn't there official website but just in case it is. (Link: Map & Software update temporary not available)

Just out of curiosity, how would I go about updating for free today? It doesn't give me the option when I go into to the updater software.

When I login and look up my model car, it shows option to buy the SD card, or download for free. Note that there are times when they are messing with the software and they do block all options until they fix issues,. I'd just hold tight.

Will do. Thank you Alfer for your input!

This is most likely about the Sirius XM data issue.

What is the issue with Sirius XM data?

Just traded in my '16 Base 3.8 for a '16 3.8 Ultimate and was trying to update the Nav & Map as well tonight and ran into the same issue.

Yeah it stinks. I have a '15 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate. About two days ago I started experiencing the issue of the navigation unit freezing (Refrence the post from joegr in this thread). I contacted MNsoft Hyundai and they are aware of the problem. They are temporarily going to disable my Sirius XM so I can use my unit again (I can't use mine at all right now). He told me that Hyundai should have the new update out by the end of April. Hopefully, they fix this problem with the new update. My car is on version 6 so it has never been updated.

If I were you I would go in your car and tune to Sirius XM channel 0 to get your radio code. If your radio starts acting up like mine did then Hyundai is going to need that code to disable the issue. You can also find this by connecting your vehicle to a Sirius XM account.

I just logged onto my Sirius account & removed the traffic data - requested a refresh & was back up and running.

How did you disable it from Sirius XM’s website? Could really use your help on that.

I have a 2015 Ultimate also and updated to 13.5 with no issues so far. The navigation system actually performs better with the 13.5 update compared to the old version 6 I was running before the update.

XM radio works perfectly with version 13.5 as well. I do not know about any other update versions, but I do know that 13.5 operate like it should in my 2015 Ultimate system.

That is great to hear! I am just kind of stuck right now because I can't get access to the update. I look forward to getting it.

What are some of the biggest differences you have notice with version 13 coming from 6?
Also, when did you update your system?

Beware of another possible glitch with the update. I have 2015 5.0 Ultimate and updated the nav data last year. It well great, except ever since the update, every 1,000 miles (at 55,000, 56,000, 57,000......) I get a warning on the display that maintenance is due now. Then I get an email from Blue Link telling me the same thing. Neither says what kind of maintenance is due.

The dealer has tried three times to stop these messages and Blue Link technicians have tried twice. So far no one at Hyundai knows how to stop these messages. I just ignore them now.

For those who have canceled there travel link subscription. How long did it take after having it canceled for the system to work normally?

I have canceled everything but I am still having problems. Just wondering if I have to wait a couple of day after I canceled everything for things to return to normal. I canceled everything yesterday.

Did you refresh the signal? Others did that and it worked. IIRC, you can go on line and do it.

You sign in, go to "manage my account" > "subscriptions" > "I want to" > Change my subscription

The 13.5 update improved the navigation map design and look. The update included text messaging on the car phone menu that read and answer text messages while you are driving.

The overall system also seems to react to commands a bit quicker as well with the13.5 update.

The 13.5 update is worth the money coming from the old version 6 in my car.

Newer map with 3D rending.
