  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Map update - Canada anyway

Yup, I just asked the dealer when it went in for service. Took them a week or so to bring it in. Then took me about two weeks to find the time to stop by.

The "Genesis" dealer in Edmonton though really needs to do something though about their location.

Here is a new Hyundai dealer close to my work:
18200

And here is the "Genesis" dealer:
18201

No drive through service, absolutely no customer parking the few times I have been there (double parked cars all over the place), the service/parts area actually stinks and is so crowded. Just not a nice place to have to go to. And I know technically I don't really have to go there, but it still happens and it just comes across as a very low end dealership. It is not somewhere I would go for a $20K car yet alone one costing 3 times that.

Was there any indication that a new version will be out soon?
Also are those SD cards tied to a single VIN?

Regarding how fast google updated, I just looked and I am wrong. They have some of the roads changed, but not others. And some have both the old and new names. No wonder we have some delivery guys getting confused. lol 1.5 years! That is bad!

Although I do know with other new roads around my place, they seem to show up within a year on google but way slower on vehicle map updates. My 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee didn't have my brothers 2 year old house on it and google definitely had it for some time already.

I didn't know if there was a new one, but I just asked the dealership to check when I booked the car in.

And I doubt it is tied to the VIN. If someone is in Edmonton with another older Hyundai/Genesis model and wants to try my old card they can.

I know the SD cards in Fords can be moved from vehicle to vehicle with a few exceptions.

Believe it or not, you can update the map in your area and (more than likely) have the edits show up on the next update. To get started go to MnSoft | Hyundai & Kia Map Update and select your country/brand. When you enter the website, there should be a "MAP ERROR REPORTER" link in the top right. This link takes you to HERE MAP CREATOR, the user updated "open source" mapping community that Hyundai (among others) uses for its maps.

Sign up for an account on Map Creator, take a couple of tutorials, and then start fixing your neighborhood!

Interesting, but seems like more work than I care to do. lol

Might check it out though. (y)
