  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maps Update V9 now shipping

Cool. Did it fix the problem? That's what I have as an issue right now.

Yes, it fixed the XM issue but screwed up the rear view camera - it added a second set of guides with green/yellow/red colors (along with the normal yellow/red guides that are supposed to be there). These "bonus" guides are wrong (you'd hit something if you used them) and don't turn as the wheel is turned. I also no longer have the alternate look-down over the bumper view. Waiting to hear back from dealer, but I suspect another new head unit is in order? Makes one concerned about the quality of these pricey electronics and what will happen once they are out of warranty - I'll be buying the extended warranty now as a result!

No it doesn't need to be replaced; the same thing happened to me when my head-unit was replaced (due to a crappy Bluetooth chip). This is just a software setting on the car. The tech at the dealer where I purchased my car fixed it by pulling out this tablet-based software that interfaced to a BT dongle plugged into my ODB port. I would have loved to see all the things that can be tweaked (because it looked like a lot), or even be able to tell you which parameter it was. In any case, once he reset that, the backup camera worked fine. I'm sorry to say I don't know what parameter he changed.

Thanks - good to know it's not a hardware issue.

Be persistent though; it took about 15 minutes of fiddling by the tech to fix it (and he is a Master Hyundai Technician who is also my dealer's electronic's specialist). As for the extended warranty, I concur. It's why I won't buy a car without one. For illustration purposes, ask the parts department how much that head-unit would have cost you if you had to replace it. If you didn't need convincing, that number (~3800) should convince most people.

So the 591 update did not resolve my issue with losing subscription. In fact - it wouldn't even load onto the radio. They tried twice. The dealer has ordered a new unit...
