  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 - 517
G80 - 284
G90 - 168

IS - 913
GS - 173
LS - 162

A8 -141

Not surprisingly, sales have tanked due to the restrictions (at the 2nd half of the month), but the G90 managed to squeak by the LS and again, outsell the A8.

G80 sales will likely remain low for the next few months until the new model hits the lots - where it should jump the A6 for the 3rd spot in the segment.

The outlier is the newest model in the Genesis sedan lineup - still being outsold by the aging IS, as well as its Kia fastback counterpart.

Maybe things will improve some w/ more dynamic styling via the F/L (and the updated engines, if so the case), but can't see things materially improving until Genesis addresses the rear passenger space (meaning not til the next gen model).

Pretty much a redux of Cadillac's experience w/ the ATS, except even the ATS sold better.

G90, especially 2019 model year, has the biggest incentive. More than G70/80, and way more than LS and A8. So no doubt it will sell better than those cars.

Another factor is: LS only has V6, and majority of A8 sold are also V6 (V8 trim are much more expensive). So having a not-so-expensive V8 trim for large sedan does help sales

Very curious to see among the 168 units of G90 sold, how many of them are 2019 model and how many are 2020.

^ Based on Autotrader, these are the no. of brand new G90s and LS 500s they are showing.

G90
2019MY - 146
2020MY - 169

LS500
2019MY - 126
2020MY - 302

So, overall, a more limited supply of the G90 (based on March's sales rate, basically a 2 month supply).

Based on the G80's latest sales rate, it'll take longer to churn thru the current inventory of G80s.

G80
2019MY - 375
2020MY - 755

The LS 500 w/ just the TTV6 has always outsold the G90 until now.

And the 2019MY LS 500 has some hefty incentives. The biggest ones being $7k in Customer Cash and $10k in Bonus Cash if you opt for the 2 higher packages.

Based on Truecar the avg. selling price for the 2019 TTV6 AWD (standad package) models is around $68k for the G90 and $75k for the LS.

Paying on avg. $70.5k for the 2020MY G90 w/ the same set-up.

Most Genesis dealers bought out the 2019 model year G90 inventory using the factory lease incentive. For the highest trim (5.0 AWD), I know most of them get $14,250 (factory to customer) + $3,250 (factory to dealer) = $17,500 rebate in total from GMA. Then customer can stack on another $1,000 (either conquest/loyalty). So basically any dealership can do invoice - $18,500 for 2019 G90, with is almost $23k off MSRP.

This is a latest example from a NJ customer:

Brand new 2019 Ultimate 5.0 AWD-$59K out the door

Highly doubt Lexus dealership can do $23k off MSRP for any 2019 LS500.

Last week I traded in my leased 19 G70 2.0t Sport towards a new 2019 G70 3.3t Dynamic MSRP $51,000 bought it for $37,998 traditional purchase. I’ve sold cars for Hyundai/Genesis and we never had more than $7,000 off MSRP on a G70 3.3t Dynamic, I recommend anyone who’s wanting to upgrade their current vehicle or anyone who’s been on the fence to talk to a dealership and find a deal like mine before time runs out.

No, but maybe not that far off.

The lowest price being advertised for an LS 500 is in the $67k range.

I'll bet a buyer can negotiate thousands more off that price (including taking some of what the factory is giving to the dealer).

There were LS buyers from about a year ago who were able to negotiate 20% off list.

For an LS listing for say, $80k - that's a $16k discount.

LS sales have dropped sharply since that time and then there's the added pressure of the F/L G90.

Probably can get an even larger discount on the Inspiration Series (which already has $10k customer cash).
