Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

I see no posts about the upgrade done last night. Can I assume no one had issues with it?
I guess no news really is good news?
 
No issues here at all. My car was fine this morning and the Connected Services app works and I logged into Connected Services on my computer and had no issues there.

So yes, GOOD NEWS!
 
No, I had the popup again this morning, and now the dealer is trying to fix it.

I had this same issue, and the dealer was able to resolve it Friday. The manager said they had never encountered an issue like that before. The Genesis technician opened a case and was able to speak with a Hyundai engineer, and the engineer walked the technician through the steps to place the head unit into developer mode. The technician then was able to wipe out the fingerprints and it is finally back to normal now. Attached are the comments from the technician, so hopefully this will give your Genesis dealer some information on where to begin in correcting this truly frustrating problem.

Genesis Owners Homepage | MyGenesis Is not functioning right now. The update that they launched Thursday did nothing for me, so far. The Genesis website information/status for my car has not updated since early May. The Genesis app on my phone will not update. I think it is all related to the GV70 that will not transmit or receive any connected services communication. My brother has a GV80 and he and I went through all of the usual suspects four days ago and no success. His GV80 Connected Services works fine.

Connected Services to my GV70 has not worked since early May. I have Case#21428450, since early May, and when I ask about the status I get the usual "the engineers are working on it and we will get back to you" blah blah blah...and thank you for your continuing patience. I installed the software updates using my USB (did that three different times with different memory sticks). The Connected Services representatives have walked me through all of the suggestions I have seen on this forum and nothing seems to work. I have an appointment with the dealership to instal the seat belt recall- pretensioner and fix the Connected Services issues in late August. I am keeping good records of the idiot treatment that I am receiving in case I follow the "lemon law" process for resolution.

I am not sure how many other people have issues with the Connected Services, but judging from the number of comments on this forum it must be a lot and a lot more than a premier builder of luxury automobiles should accept.
 
I have A 2023 GV80 3.5 Prestige with 6k miles. I took it in for service and they said I need to update the Nav and Console and told me where to get the update. I downloaded onto a new 64gb usb drive formatted exFAT as instructed. All went well on the download according to the program. I put into the car and hit update. It said “you can turn the car off and it will continue updating.” I left overnight and started the car in the morning. The Genesis badge came up onto the screen and then it went blank. I tried again an hour later. Same. Radio and Nav not functional, nor does the backup camera or Airplay work. I tried to rest by holding the map and Setup keys. No dice. Any other ideas? Thanks.
 
Update: I spoke to Genesis and they asked if I had done a soft reset (yes), and said the next step is to disconnect the battery for four hours. I will do this in a few days when I have time.

I would recommend that you also go in and reconfigure your Genesis Connect Service Account.
Disconnecting the battery is called a Hard Reset. I have always been told to disconnect for 10 minutes. I have never heard of anything needing a disconnect for longer than that, but who knows?
Check the manual on disconnecting the battery and those things you may have to reset after the battery is reconnected.

That's what happened to MANY of us when the June 10th mass-massacre of our cars settings went. After resetting everything over again, I got that screen saying 22 or 23 years ago and had to reboot the infotainment system, then reconnect to Connected Services in the car and all has been fine since then.
 
Update 17 July: Finally decided to go to my Hyundai dealership as I had time this morning and the pop ups continue / no further comms from Genesis Connected services. To my surprise a New stand alone Genesis dealership has opened next door- 2 weeks ago (Vegas).. so went there and met the new service manager. Appointment soon and likely new head unit needed. Finally I hope some progress :) ..

Got back from the dealer today. They couldn't reset it, so they are ordering a new head unit and I will get it installed in a few weeks. Wow.
Any word on that new head unit. I am seeing a few others posting that their head units are also being replaced. Genesis still remains silent about this issue 😱
 
I spent 15 minutes and 3 times setting it before it took. Ughh!

New to the forum but have been dealing with the dreaded error “smart key must be present to delete profile”.

This has been going on for a month

I got a new message from Genesis today asking me to try again to delete the fingerprint after they sent another OTA signal to the car .. I’m out of state until saturday when I’ll try to see if anything has changed
