  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, everyone:

This morning I experienced something strange on my 2023 G90, purchased in September 2022. The car seems to have done a factory reset that I did not initiate. I last drove the car yesterday to and from work and parked it in my driveway overnight, as usual. This morning, when I started it, I noticed that the main screen said "resetting" and when it finished, it went to the usual disclaimer page, followed by the home page that displays the clock. However, the clock was now on Eastern Standard Time, and not Daylight Saving Time and the dashboard display was different than my usual. That was the first clue that something was wrong. Upon further inspection, I found that my phone had been unpaired and all my settings for warning chimes, door unlock, ambient lighting, navigation favorites, etc., were gone. Everything was gone, and I didn't initiate this. What's interesting is that the car received an OTA update last week, which self-installed without incident, or any noticeable changes, for that matter. It was something minor having to do with the Audio system and something else I couldn't read before it disappeared from the screen. I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced an unwanted reset like this. It's annoying that I now have to set everything back up from scratch.

Mine did as well. Was there a message for anyone saying "link to the account has been disabled from the phone, account will be reset to default setting"?

I read something similar in the Santa Fe forum today. Likely many more complaints ahead this weekend.

The same happened to my G70 overnight. Must be an issue with Genesis as a whole. It’s frustrating have to redo all of the settings. Took me 20 minutes to get them right again.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I think I'll use the Caddy this weekend and leave the GV80 alone!

Strangest thing happened today. Was driving and music stopped and screen said resetting to factory defaults. I had to then go through setup and reset everything (profile, fingerprints, etc…).

Main batter is at 64% and 12-volt battery was reading 14.8. Volts at the time.

Anyone else experience this?

Same thing happened to me. I’m listed as the secondary driver. Touched confirm and got the same message listed above. Sent a message to Genesis just now.

Don't think it will matter as the change is OTA.
If you do, let us know.

Two other threads mention similar happenings. Seems both Hyundai and Genesis are affected. Had ro reset my Driver 1 settings just a few minutes ago.

Today my wife went to use her 4 month old GV70 and found that her entire profile was missing! Everything, from log in screen to ambient lighting, all gone. However, my profile as driver #2, was still there but I lost the ambient lighting, lift gate height and a couple of other conveniences. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yep, I went to the grocery store an hour ago and everything was normal. Came out and my profile (the only profile) was wiped out. Not cool.

I just had the same thing in my GV80 less than a month old. I can see the car via the app and mygenesis but cant delete the new Driver 1 profile and link the profile to connected services.

Thanks for letting me know. Glad to hear it’s not an electronic defect on my end.

Thinking if I don't turn the car on, won't happen. Or maybe it's just an excuse to apply some horsepower to the streets of NJ!

Same exact behavior here. I had to pair my phone again and the car is still not recognizing the link. Guess I’ll be waiting for support again.

Same here. Called local Genesis dealer and they're checking on it. My profile was just gone. Ugh
