  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

Add me to the list. I spent an hour in the car rebuilding my profile, I just can't seem to get the numbered speedometer back between the two circles, I only have the choice of alertness, the lane thing and compass. No more numbered speed. I posted this in another post about the speedometer.

Well...I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this reset, although I'm sorry for those who have. It's such a pain to put in all one's settings after having gotten them just right. Oh, well. Such is the nature of technology. I tried calling Genesis Customer Care (the number listed on the Connected Services App) but it said the wait time would be 200 minutes. Yes, 200. I gave up. Hopefully, someone will find out what happened and share it with us. I'll try again on Monday and follow up.

Wife's Kona EV. Both profiles gone. Reset to defaults. Ugh!!
Haven't started my GV60 yet... I'll wait until tomorrow when I have more time to reprogram everything.
I also had to do a Factory Reset this morning on the GV60. Has anyone found out why this is occurred?

I just got off the phone with Genesis support after being on hold for 45 minutes. I got the basic reply “we know there’s a problem. The engineers are working on it.“ They walked me through some “fix” as they called it. It restored the name of my profile and said it would prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately there’s nothing they can do to restore the settings.
I lost mine between 9pm last night and 7am this morning. Unable to get through on the phone. I was able to add a new profile for myself, but unable to link it to Connected Services. Did they walk you through any of that?
Thanks,
Tom

Hello,
I have a 2021 GV80/Prestige. 30K miles
Today I started it up & all my settings were somehow back to factory default !!!! What pain.
Does anyone have a clue why this happened ?
Thanks:cool:
I have a 3 week old 2023 GV80 and I joined this forum to look into this very issue as it happened earlier today to me. And now I see I'm not alone, sad to say.

Can you share the fix with us?

Unfortunately the fix will require Genesis Support. The support person had me restart the car 3 times, reboot the system, (holding down the map and setup buttons) on the dash for 10 seconds. Once the system rebooted she but me on hold and did something at her end. About 3 minutes later my profile name reappeared. Just to be clear this did nothing to restore my personal settings.

Happened to me on my GV60 this morning too.

This morning my user profile in the car was gone. Lots of people with GV70 have the same issue:
Anyone else?

Dang my GV70 only has 6300 miles and it happened to me this morning. So frustrating I just emailed them about it as well.

Me too! What a royal PITA. No apparent workaround as you are forced to press the OK button. I made sure my phone app was working first and had to log in manually for it which was new and then reconnect but that didn't help. Not sure if I can recall all the different settings but there may be some add-ons that weren't there before but I can't be sure as it has been a while since I even looked at most of the settings. I have not yet done the latest software update if that may be related somehow.

You have to hit the little card thing on the right side of the steering wheel. Above the scroll wheel to the left.

Then click and hold the scroll wheel.

Then scroll till you see the MPH, and make sure the box is checked. Then you can go back to the main screen. And scroll the wheel till you see it.

Yup, friend’s week old 2023 Ioniq 5 + my GV60P loaner but not the owned GV60P I manually updated last week. Reports on the Reddit threads for Ioniq5 as well. Seems Konas also lost settings.
I sure hope it’s not a company-wide app hack!

Bizarre. I tried to send a message to Genesis via the owner's page, but the system would not accept the message. I click on the "next" button after filling out the fields and there was no response. Damn...

All presets wiped out here too, both our profiles, bluetooths, camera unlock etc....PITA!

I think it might be their answer to the thief’s of the cars lately. Doing something to prevent it.

Nope- the MPH option has disappeared

I was able to get it, but I could not find where you can check it. I used to be able to get it by pushing the top right button on the wheel until it came up. now, while pushing in the scroll wheel, i have to scroll with it pushed in to get it. Or something like that. very confusing. That is where I keep mine set all the time, so if it stays, I am ok.
I wonder if when it reset, it put in an old version of the software?

See also GV60 posts on this subject - happening to Kona and Ioniq 5 cars as well. Hope it’s not hackers!
