  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a whole new Air Bag from HaniKimi on eBay. I have purchased several items from him and I highly recommend him.

Thanks, that's exactly what I saw online as well. I thought it was too expensive since I really just wanted the wings logo, too bad we can't just swap that out.

You need to slow down Charles. Only losers modify their cars.

The bag and the cover are connected so you can't just change the cover, I am posting my Hyundai Logo airbag on eBay this week, hope to get some of my money back.

I had the mirrors painted to match the roof

Changed the mufflers and added the MSA Chrome Tips, had the bottom of the bumper painted satin black

Side view, the tips stick out just enough, the turn signal on the mirror stands out more

YES. Looking good Charles. Great example of a cleanly modded G1.....or G80.

Cool, I'm not sure I like the black mirrors but I like the two tone rear bumper and the pipes. The rear was my least favorite part of the G1 mainly because I came form a 4 pipe Maxima so I've always liked those exhausts.

I also upgraded the lights
LED for the accessory light and Piaa 5000K lights for the fogs

My wife hated the mufflers, so I have gone back to the stock set up. The muffler shop said it happens all the time, he said guys have come back the same day, I had them for a week.

I really dig the way you modified the grille. Solid. How do I explain that to a body/car custom shop what was done? It looks black and chrome? Also, the spine going down the front of grille looks a little different (and better I must say!) What would be a normal price range to have my grille look the same?

Which mufflers did you go with?

If I were to do my exhaust again, I would try harder to find a way to fit the BBK Varitune mufflers I had:

http://www.bbkperformance.com/products/varitune-exhaust/universal-varitune-mufflers-.html

The offset/offset design made it unusable in the stock muffler placement and I was determined to leave that day with an exhaust, so instead I used some Magnaflow oval mufflers and cut in some 12" Vibrant resonators into the MSA X-pipe.

I do believe that they could fit somewhere in the factory resonator area. The Varitunes allow you to mechanically adjust them from a 3-chamber, 2-chamber to straight through, the person I sold them to ended up rigging up a window motor to the adjustment screw so they could use a switch in the cabin to adjust the mufflers electronically.

Since the Varitune is a reactive (chamber) style muffler, following up with an absorptive (Material packed/perforated tube) style muffler/resonator will cancel out the frequency that the reactive process generates. So the BBKs in the factory resonator area and a pair of resonators in place of the factory mufflers. If you look at some Mustang and Camaro catbacks, you will see a similar design.

It is the 2012-14 grill painted black, with a chrome upper piece from the 2009 SSC model

If you have a 2009-11 you need the both pieces and then have it painted. If you have a 12-14, just paint it and change the upper piece.

I went with the Dynomax Super Turbos, but only had them for a week. Wife didn't like them.

Ok, thanks. Really appreciate your help. I found 2012-2014 Genesis Black Edition Hood Grille...since the description is black, does this mean I would not have it painted? Here is the link on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hyundai-Gen...ash=item3d063bc1c9:g:RvwAAOSweuxWRk1f&vxp=mtr. Or do I just buy the regular grill and have it painted like you suggest?

What is a 2009 SSC? Sorry for being extra cautious but I want to get it right :)

I like the look. It would definitely have me doing double-takes if I see it rolling down the street.

What size tires you have on the rims?

Thank You,

I went with 245/40/19, I think I am going to go up to 245/45/19 on the next set, all of the 40 series are really soft and don't wear very well. There are some touring tires in the 45 series with much better tread life.

Your car is elegantly modded bro...I have a 2010 same color but its a 3.8 with Tech Package & love it! I've done tint(35% all around), winged emblems(F&R+ steering wheel) & the winged 18in wheel caps. I still have to install a HPS CAI I bought as well, but where can I get the rear spoiler & the 19in wheels?? Thanks.
