  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know maximum wheel / tire size in the front and rear? 17" wheels most likely.

According to Discount Tire website, these are the acceptable plus sizes for a Genesis 17" wheel.

Standard OEM
225/55-17

Plus Zero
235/55-17
245/50-17

The 235/55-17 will be a little bit larger diameter, but considering that most people are reporting that the speedometer reads about 3-4% faster than actual, it may work out just right.

They also have info for other wheel sizes if you want to replace your 17 wheels.

Edit: Disclaimer - the Genesis wheels turn quite sharply for a very good turning radius (for a car that size), so I would be careful with the 245/50-17 and get the tire installer to give you a money back guarantee if the tires scrapes. Since Discount Tire posts the size as acceptable on the website, you could probably get them to guarantee they will not scrape.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Also watch out for the gasmilage drop. Wider you go the worse it gets. Try to look for roll resistance rate on tires also. You can get as much as 8% differences from tire to tire.

I called tirerack for snow tires, They said they haven't had a Genesis in to size up yet, so be very careful of their sizings.

discount tire suggests you could go to 255/45/18 but the 235s are fairly tight.

That's severely disappointing, if true. My '95 M3 can hold up to 265 tires on a 17" rim. I was hoping the car would be ripe for STX in SCCA autocrossing, but the tire width is going to be a huge detractor. Also, does anyone know the bolt pattern for the wheels?

I just installed a set of 19" x 8" wheels with P245/40R19 tires and everything is fine fitment-wise. By the way, several web sites such as bigwheels.net provide tire and wheel fitment validation for most cars, including the Genesis.
