  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis sales finally broke the 2k milestone!
And the G70, the 1k milestone.

Genesis - 2,313
G70 - 1,447

The IS did 1,553.

So w/ 1,410 Stinger sales, G/K are doing pretty decent in the compact RWD lux segment, but there is still room for improvement (the upgraded engines can't come soon enough, as well as the upgrade telematics).

That is a nice increase for the G70s after being flat. I would think increasing lease cash as well as @r_spec and his Circle Pricing helped. ;)

How about G80 and G90?

I suspect the G70 increase was do much wider availability everywhere. The closest dealer to me had 1 G70 3.3T sport when I was shopping, they now have 5, including a Dynamic Edition. The car I bought was built in Sept 2018 and didn't arrive at the dealer I bought it from until the end of April. It seems inevitable that sales of the G70 will increase every month for a while.

You are correct there has been an increase in inventory levels at the dealers due to more vehicles being shipped. We thought we would have seen an increase in sales when the dealer network grew at a good clip when California and Texas came online as well as PA starting but the last three months the sales were flat. In May they increased the lease cash which you could speculate was a way to increase sales. It is probably a combination of a few different factors.

The dealer near me only got his franchise about a month ago and now shows 37 G70 in inventory.

Are you in the LA area? Which dealer has 37 G70s? Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.

We should probably move to the G70 Availability thread but what configuration are you looking for? I show 376 G70s in the LA area when doing an inventory search.

3.3T Sport RWD Siberian. I only see one in the greater LA area, and that’s in Loma Linda. But I don’t see any one dealer that has 37 G70s in stock. Maybe he means 37 Genesis, incl G80 and G90.

For that spec, you are right. Only Loma Linda has a SI 3.3 Sport right now unless you want to go to Henderson, NV and figure out the whole out of state purchasing stuff.

On Topic: Good to see the numbers are going up for sales. Hopefully that means the projections will give dealers an incentive to get the standalone Genesis dealerships up and running sooner. On the other hand, I have seen too damn many of specs identical to mine pop up and my brother spotted a AB G70 while we were driving the other day. I want the feeling of exclusivity to last a little longer

With the G70 doing 62% of total sales in May I would think dealers will be anxious to move some G80's and 90's. On a per dealer basis the volume of those two models is pretty low. At least that's my hope as I'm looking at the G80.

Allocation is almost 8-1-1 in my experience currently.. Oddly enough in my state almost all of the High end packages for the g80/90 sent out are the exact same package and color. Everyone has a White G80 sport & Blue G90 5.0

Incentives definitely had to do with the increase. I'm glad they maintained them for June, but might come back down after and push more cash for g80 and g90

SK - 5,721 (27,862 YTD)

G90 - 2,206
G80 - 1,958
G70 - 1,557

So that makes for over 3k G70's sold btwn here and SK - which is a good bit more than what the IS sells btwn here and Japan.

K9 - 1k
Stinger - 475

As an aside, sales of the Sonata went bonkers - 13,376 sold for the month (toppling the Grandeur from the #1 sales spot).

Australia started Genesis sales.
G80 - 3
G70 - nada

Funny, but accurate point. I think a lot of us that got 1st gen Hyundai Genesis did so because we didn't want the same care everyone else had. I loved for the first few years everyone asking what kind of car that was. Just got into a newer G80 about 2 weeks ago and so far haven't had a single person ask about it :(

I get asked about mine all the time--it is a G70; I will say that every G80 or G90 that I saw on the road made my head turn--which was one reason I became interested in Genesis.

There's a few Genesis owners in the neighborhood (or close enough that I see em daily) and it definitely made me take notice. I would always see a G90 and confuse it for a Mercedes.

Congrats dude! I see G80's all over the place, so it could be that people are a bit more used to seeing them. They also are heavily derived from the Hyundai Genesis sedans, so that may contribute to it too since those have been produced for a while. Personally, I don't feel like the G80 sticks out as much unless you get a sport model. The sport definitely makes it look far more aggressive and changes the "personality"/presence of the car, imo.

I keep looking for them but have only ever seen two Genesis' while driving, one was back when I was visiting my parents in PA a few years ago and the other was outside Indianapolis. There could be a reason why there is currently only one dealer in Colorado. ;)
