  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do you have the April sales handy? Thanks!

So, I gotta ask.
Why do you think that Genesis sales are low? Is it the economy? Is it because Genesis isn't well known?

Not well known
Competing with status brands
Not many dealerships
Questions about Korean reliability

Low...MB sold 84,000 cars in USA last year. That is 7,000 a month. Genesis sold 6700 in May. About the same

Skipped April, but you can find them on the goodcarbadcar website (but have to search each model individually).

Genesis sales are pretty decent considering that it's basically a 2 model (that sells) lineup, with those 2 models (the GV70 and GV80) having ATPs more in line with the RWD Germans than the Japanese or the domestics, and not yet having any hybrid (not counting 48V) or EREV powertrains yet

That's why adding a 3rd CUV (not counting the GV60, which is a flop) such as bringing the X Gran Equator is key.

Also keep in mind that Genesis doesn't offer any "low end" models like the UX or the ADX which aren't really luxury.

Heck, the GV70's ATP is more in line with the RX which is one size segment up and I hope they keep it that way.

Worldwide, there are 3 Genesis models that sell in any significant volume - the G80 joining the aforementioned GV70 and GV80.

GV70 sales (15,726) are not that far off that of the RDX (19,179) despite being a good bit pricier.

What's your opinion on why the GV60 hasn't sold well?

^ First off all, it's an EV, exacerbated by its design (worst in the lineup) and bodystyle.

Most buyers already aren't willing to pay the price premium for an EV over ICE or electrified ICE.

The price premium is made worse due to lack of space/utility compared to the Ioniq 5 and EV6 which have basically the same powertrains, not to mention more pleasing sheetmetal.

Even over in Europe (which the GV60 was geared for), it has been a failure, as well as in Korea.

Stated that the next gen GV60 needs to change to a boxy shape (maximize utility) and go for the "rugged" off-road look (basically a mini Gran Equator X).

Adding an EREV powertrain would also help.

Makes sense. The GV60's design is the one that took longest to grow on my compared to the rest of the models.

From what I’ve noticed recently is they won’t discount much off asking price. The competitors are. I’ve seen people look for a Gv70 and end up going with a competitor due to a much better deal. My wife recently got almost 10% off a gle350 and a lower trim at that. After some serious haggling I only got a couple hundred off the asking price of my gv70 a month ago.

Wow, that’s a bummer. In February this year I got $4500 off msrp for a 2025 GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige Storr green/vanilla beige with %2.9 financing. Maybe it’s more a location thing? Upper Midwest here.
