  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maybe the next Azera can be something for traditional Cadillac drivers

There's still - and always will be - a market for soft sprung, roomy, quiet, comfortable, luxurious cruisers... With the Genesis being a luxury sport sedan, there's an opening for a truly luxurious, front wheel drive luxury sedan that's as smooth as a Lexus LS or traditional Cadillac/Lincoln.

Being the owner and operator of a VERY large/busy Cadillac community, I see plenty of potential for a vehicle like this in the United States. The Cadillac Fleetwood has been gone for over a decade. The Lincoln Town Car is about to take it's bow.. So here's Hyundai's opportunity to come in and steal all these customers who have nowhere else to go.

Lexus LS? Maybe - but far more expensive than Cadillac and Lincoln owners are used to. The next Hyundai Azera should grow a bit, become as quiet as the Genesis, add some basic luxury features - maybe not everything the Genesis has - keep it fairly simple, and be very competitive price-wise.. It should also remain front wheel drive...

Any thoughts?

would be nice but this is the last yr (2009) model for the azera. its going away.:(

Yeah, I dont think it would be a good idea to make a new generation Azera. Now what Hyundai should do is, with the recent introduction of the Genesis platform, make a 3 series size sports sedan. Actually, this was hinted back at the NY auto show while introducing the Genesis coupe to the public. The Hyundai rep just smiled when he was confronted with the question.

yes, my Gm recently went to a hyundai conference and they told him that as well as doing away with veracruz and merging the santa fe into two different types with the normal one now and a veracruz sized one later is in the works.

Okay.. That's weird, though. One model but two sizes... Interesting...

I sense a stretched chassis for the Veracruz sized vehicle. Hmmmm... this is interesting to know. We are looking to get the VC but may hold a bit? - Not sure!!! The Azera's are going to be a steal to get if they're discontinuing it - massive rebates and discounts. Gonna give my buddy a heads up.

The Azera already is a Korean Buick and is soft enough for the geriatric set. I think they should bring over the Equus with tuning similar to the LS460L.

I TOTALLY agree on the Equus! But in regards to the Azera - it could use a little more techno-wizardry...

The Azera nameplate may be (or not) going away, but Hyundai has its replacement in the works (code name HG).

Keep in mind that the Azera is a pretty big seller for Hyundai in Korea.

Besides, Kia's VG (which is going thru its final paces of development) is built on the new (Azera) platform.

The new Azera/HG should not be larger than the Genesis - it remains to be seen if the HG and Kia VG are larger than the current Azera.

Whatever the VG (Kia) / HG (Hyundai) is, it's going to be large, front wheel drive and have 6 speeds...
