  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here is link to what I am using. Its very small and does not get in the way in console compartment. Its less likely to get damaged or to get bumped and damage the usb port. Pretty sweet. I'm using a 16G Sandisk and it's huge compared to this one and I paid probably $30, but this was when I bought the Genesis 3.5 years ago.

I just bought this for the exact same reason. I have over 2000 songs on it and about 6 movies. Be careful how you format it. The genesis isnt the best at searching sub-folders.

Yea, that's the only size I use now..have several..only drawback is that once you push it down into the USB port, it can be difficult to retrieve due to the port's proximity to the console walls
.

^^ This. Plus, I often forget where I leave them and end up losing them...they are hard to see in certain places haha

Yea they are so small...easy to misplace..I keep a ziplock bag around to put them in when not in use.

A simple and versatile answer to this is to buy a 6" or longer USB extension [male to female]...for pennies [try "Meritline" or similar].
Now any size USB can be connected without contortions!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Or Monoprice.com - love that freaking site!

+10. I figured that one out not too soon after I started using those tiny USB memory things.

It really defeats the purpose of having a slim USB flash drive though LOL

Mine's great. I use the center console every single day, and the USB is completely out of the way, and I don't worry about damaging it!

The manual states that leaving the USB drive inserted when turning the car on/off could damage it. Has this ever happened to any of you?

Nope... been using mine religiously for about 4 months. Use it every day.

I don't see how or why this could happen...Unless there's the possibility of a power surge to the USB port upon starting the car. If the car is off, then nothing is happening with the USB port or the USB drive.

No, but I have a duplicate usb in case the one in the car crashes.

I couldn't care less if it should damage the USB key - it's an $8 key (16GB). I just wanted to check before adding a USB cable to it.. (for ease of access).
