  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

:verysad: My 2015 (purchased in Jan 2016) has just 18k miles. It has all the option packages, AWD too and is as fine a car as I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of them. As you can tell by the low mileage, the car was not a daily-driver, just a pleasure cruising vehicle. Because of the long, harsh winters we have here in the U.P. of Michigan, it never was driven in the winter. It was stored for 4-6 months each year. It is not the 220 annual average snowfall that we get here that kills the car, it is the copious amounts of corrosive road salt they use each and every day that just ages vehicles badly. I was not going to expose my "baby" to that. But, my financial situation is changing and I have been debating for several months now what to do. My Genesis was 100% garage-kept and when not in use covered with a high-quality car cover. It is as close to new as a 4-year old car could ever be. It will break my heart to have to part with it, but someone is going to get a pristine car. Still deciding what to do, but if anyone is interested, you can message me and we can discuss it. Haven't decided either way yet....

Given that you like it so much, would it help to make it your daily driver and get rid of your present one? It would save you on insurance and you still have warranty left. Yeah, it will get dirty but still has many miles ahead rust free.

Sorry to hear that you may have to sell your 15 Genny...Never thought I would see or hear of one in the U.P. of Michigan!! I happen to be a troll as compared with a "Yooper" ( troll=one who lives in MI south of the Mighty Mack bridge..for those unfamiliar with Michigan terminology. ;) ). Your car looks GREAT!!. and that a grey/monticito blue or a white was I was looking for... Just about 3 months late for me. I was looking for a 15 or 16 with little success for about 6 months.Could not find one with the color/mileage/price that sparked my interest.... Then I came across a private seller in Fla offering a 16 ultimate with 13K and I could not get the deal done soon enough. Lucky for me all things worked out and I got her here sept 2019. Like you I see mine as my "baby" in that it has never been subject to Michigan road salt....so I am inclined to keep her warm and salt free in my garage through the winter and take her out ONLY when roads are snow/salt free. We get only about 1/5 of the snow on average here in southern MI that you guys do in the upper pennisula.I am fortunate to have my wifes ford edge as a winter vehicle as needed (y)..I feel your angst in possibly having to give up a great car. Hopefully things work out for the best for you whichever direction you choose to go...John

That won't work, but thanks for the suggestion. My other vehicle is a Nissan Titan Truck, which I need for Towing a number of things from my boat to my camper. The Genesis simply extra luxury item that would need to go if and when the situation warrants.

One of the main reasons I left south eastern Michigan is the salt and generally terrible winter weather. I do agree with Ed P though. Drive it and wash it regularly. It's a great car enjoy it!
