  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My dealership here in Shreveport; Mike Morgan Hyundai, was unwilling to do anything. Genesis buyers here are a dime a dozen with a mercedes and bmw store down the street from one another. The dealership was less interesting in selling me my Genesis, then chasing down the honda civics that pulled up trying to sell sonatas and santa fe. I eventually ended up buying my car from a dealership in Maryland due to the horrible service I received here.

So I thought, maybe the service isn't that bad. So I bring my car in and tell them that it's pulling a little bit to the right. While waiting I hear them tell this lady (whom has a car also pulling to a side) that they switched the front tires around and that fixed the pull. She has a little accent, probably out of the warranty and they want to save her money, so I'm cool with that. But when you come to me with my $40,000 Genesis and tell me that you're going to save money by switching tires around instead of doing an alignment, that I have a problem with. My car only had 11,000 miles on it at this point. Do the alignment.

I come back though to do an oil change. Ask the guy very bluntly, what kind of oil is recommended for my car. He tells me valvoline. It's one thing to be cheap, but not knowing your vehicle is another. The manual clearly say Hyundai recommends Quaker State. I don't know if this is an isolated incident, but when spending this much money on a car, I don't want you switching tires around to save money and I want you to at least know what kind of oil is recommended to go in my car, even if you don't have that oil to put in the vehicle. That's my experience.

Hyundai may RECOMMEND Quaker State, but that does not mean you must use that. More important is the weight (5W-20, etc).

In Addition, Dealers who are more interested in making money, vice taking care of their customers, may use CHEAP oil, not a quality 5W-20, 5W-30 or
10W-30 oil, and you won't even know it. I insist on oil from bottles, not bulk oil.
