  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello there,

2015 3.8

I have a slight vibration. Most noticeable at lower speeds. I had my wheel balanced and I’ve also been cruising on newly paved roads.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and the outcome was.

Based on owning many cars, it almost feels like a bad transmission mount but I only have 36k miles.

Thanks.

RWD or AWD? Do you feel the vibration in just the steering wheel or in the seats too? How many miles on the tires? Are they wearing evenly?

I had vibration at higher speeds than you and it was just crappy OEM tires. They were balance but that did not help. There are other potential problems though.

RWD, I thought about tires...tire pressure or wearing unevenly. I’ll have a look. I have pretty good Michelins on there with about 40% left.

The balancing was done at the Hyundai dealership. I’ll visit my regular tire place.

Thanks for the response!

Got a brand new set a tires yesterday. Recent alignment and vibration still persist. Just made an appointment at the dealership for next week .....

Saw this from a post on Facebook and it may well be my problem since I feel the vibration on the steering wheel but mostly from the bottom, seat and floor board.

From FB Post:
"A colleague and I both had the same issue, and have 2015s. Turned out to be the coating inside the rear driveshaft was flaking off. Once the driveshafts were replaced, our noise and slight vibration went away."

Yeah, probably not the same issue...not worried about tire wear. This vibration is consistent and not normal. Vehicle should ride smoothly, specially this one.

We’ll see what the dealership says, rear driveshaft sounds right. I’ve placed the car in neutral while rolling in the highway and the vibration is a bit more significant. This coincides with a bad driveshaft.
