  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got my car back from dealer after oil change, when checking the dip stick I noticed that it was about 1/2, so I added a little bit more. But I also noticed the threads in the hole right below the oil cap. Looks like a screw is missing? This is on the 5.0 V8.20190801_233119.webp

You are good. Mine looks like that as well. Must be an extra space for an optional conector. In fact there are several open bolt holes around the bay now that I looked at it.

I've seen things like that on other cars too. My thinking is, they are there because the same engine in a different car has an accessory that bolts in there, or, it is used in the assembly process for holding or lifting.

Agreed. I noticed a few unused bolt holes on my intake manifold and assumed that they are blank holes that is not needed on my Genesis.

My G80 had a couple of "missing bolts" like this also. I didn't like it and the dealer put matching bolts in them and all looks OK now. He explained the attachment connections as well.

That is frickin awesome! You have my same OCD... Now I have to go out and get some bolts and make sure they are color matched to the surrounding area, or i won't be able to sleep tonight. Thanks a lot!
