Hi there!
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and share my feelings about my recent purchase.
I came from Audi A4 and wanted a bit softer and bigger vehicle with luxury features...
I got '15 Genny Luxury (3.8 lambda) about a week ago and here are my biggest usability dislikes:
- Being a music fan, I store big music collection on 64Gb USB stick, and navigating it on Genesis is such a PITA!!!
It's missing a 'return' button to navigate upper level in the tree. It's neither on the steering wheel, nor on the dash/console.
I have to reach the screen in order to go a level up. While I'm 6 feet tall, it's still a big pain...
A very simple and frequently used function just became a biggest discomfort for me.
- sound settings are very limited for the quality of the speakers. I think I had better sound overall in my previous Audi
- having an issue with the sun reflected from the edge of the hood closer to windshield..
- many people already mentioned poorly calibrated 'delayed' response from transmission. Totally agree.
- The shift Knob occasionally pinches my ring finger
- "Passenger Air Bag" light is total mess.. It's a very bright orange light that is not controllable by interior light dimming function.
Totally ridiculous and very disturbing.
Had to cover it with 5% tint film..
- Whenever I start the car, I have a warning screen with Agree/Disagree disclaimer.. F%$ck, it's getting disturbing. Does anyone know if it's possible to disable it?
- I find auto-folding mirrors very useful, but they are unfolding/folding every time I pass by my car.. I don't know the reason of it, I think it would be more practical to
unfold them when the engine starts or driver opens the door. Maybe it's required for displaying the welcome 'Genesis' foot light, but it looks like there is a separate config for that
- screen doesn't always return to where it was after engine restarts ...
- My rear climate controls don't work. No air blown from the rear vents.. When I looked at the 'Climate settings', the 'Rear Climate Controls' option is disabled and I can't enable it.
Contacted the dealer, they told that they have to order a part in order to enable it. Haven't heard from them for a week...
Also, folks, don't expect 'premium' customer support from Hyundai. With Audi, it was nearly impeccable, with Hyundai I started to feel a big difference both in service and vehicle usability.
I still like my Genny, but keep questioning myself whether I did the right thing choosing this fake Korean Bentley
