If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I opened the mobile app on my iPhone to remote start and found the App updated. I like the look and is more user friendly. However, during remote start process the app gave me the attached pop-up notification. "PIN Token has expired". I then changed my PIN on the App and I was able to remote start my GV80. However, the next day I received the same pop-up notification. I don't want to change my PIN again and have not contacted Genesis yet. Has anyone else run into this issue? Thanks.

This feels like a cache issue, but I could be wrong. Since Apple doesn't let you delete app cache like the Android Master Race™ I'd recommend deleting the app and then re-installing it to trick it into clearing the cache.

I just open the APP and I to see the updated App. I just went down and started the car and my PIN number worked just fine. I did not have to change my PIN.
The Climate start opposed to the Remote Start did throw me off, but I figured they were both one in the same.

Hi, i just called Genesis, using Iphone i had to do the following.
From App Bottom Left —>Utilities—>setting & Privacy—>Use Face ID for PIN verification—uncheck then Check again.
Bingo it worked afterwards.

I ran into the exact same issue. Hoping for better luck today after enabling the Face ID function through the mobile App on my iPhone. Stay tuned for updates.

I'll check today and circle back, thanks.
<EDIT>
All good, Face ID and PIN toggling appear to have corrected the remote start issue. Thanks again.

Can't log in the app.
If you are using your correct Log IN credentials and can’t get logged in try turning off your phone and turn it back on.
If this does not work try uninstalling and reinstalling the App.

Good Luck🍀

I very seldom use the app so until I read this thread, I did not know the app had been updated.

1. I saw nothing wrong with the old app. I’d use it once in a while and I understood it. (See number 3 below).

2. Although I have not yet used the updated app, I think I have it figured out by looking at it and studying the app. Will try next time I use the car and in view of car to make sure it works.

3. The old system that I’ve used and understand is still available in owners.Genesis.com and will also use that to make sure it still works.

I guess it is a matter of preference, but I prefer the layout of the new App, I could be wrong , but it looks like the fuel gauge was added or at least it is better located and more noticeable.
I too very seldom use the App, but such a nice feature to use if you are out and uncertain if you locked your doors and on really cold days to start the car and get things warmed up a little prior to entering.

Still an issue:

Toggling of Face ID and PIN is corrected for that one remote start instance. The problem reoccurs with next attempt. Correction actions attempted:
  1. Toggled Face ID for PIN in settings, tried this correction twice. Works on first start attempt, but not on the next.
  2. Deleted and reinstalled App. - No joy.
  3. Rebooted iPhone. - No joy.
  4. Toggled 'Use Face ID for PIN verification' to OFF. - Joy.
This last correction (4) has corrected the remote start issue, but I have to enter the PIN each time. It would appear that the App does not activate the request for the PIN using Face ID.

In addition I now notice that the App opens without requiring Face ID. However the App is set to require Face ID to open in the App settings on the iPhone.
Are these two issues related?

Even with the old App I had to enter my pin, but never had to change my pin unless I elected to do so. Having to enter the pin each time is a security feature.

I agree. The new layout scheme is more aesthetically pleasing and hopefully will lead to a similar update to the map, etc. One thing I moss though, is the current weather on the dashboard/landing page.

Thank you, ahsmithiv, for your good research and tip. It works! :-)

I also have had this issue. I updated mine, but still couldn't remote start the car as I received an error. This isn't the first time this has happened. I contacted Genesis, and they told me to delete the app and re-download it. Still doesn't work.

Wish they would add Battery Percentage too, next to the Fuel Gauge.

Just tried it again and got the expired PIN warning. I already changed it a couple of days ago. Why would I need to change it again??

I had the same experience. I just changed the settings in the App to require manual PIN with each remote start. That is best solution for now. :cautious:

Yes, worked for me too. 1st-time remote start has worked for me. Joy!!
