Motor/Mileage Concerns

This is probably going to sound like a dumb question but I wanted to hear from current owners. I'm looking at purchasing a 2017 Genesis G80 3.8 with roughly 83k miles and a 2018 Genesis G80 3.3T with roughly 114k miles on it. Now that you have owned yours for a while, which one would you recommend? Is there anything I should be aware of once they hit the 100k mark?

Well I can only speak to my experience with my 2017 G80. I have low mileage, probably around 60,000 but it was bought new in 2017 and I absolutely love my car. I think of course popular wisdom says always go for low mileage but I don’t think that is the focus of your question. I can tell you I have had no issues with my car, which is amazing. The most expensive repair I have had is replacing the back brake rotors (I have an AWD) because I didn’t realize the brakes were wearing and should have been replaced sooner in which case it would have just needed the pads replaced-much cheaper repair. I recently had to replace the original tires but it’s on a car that’s 8 years old. I am good at keeping up with the regular maintenance schedules but again Iotger than the brakes, the only other recent issue is that I probably need to have a part replaced for the windshield washer fluid mechanism but it’s not enough of a problem for me to shell out the bucks for it immediately.

My car still looks good out on the road-I have the pearl white with a panoramic sunroof which I love. I think the next year, 2018, wireless cell phone charging was introduced but for me, I don’t miss what I never had on that front. So if it were me and I had the option for a lower mileage 2017, which I assume is also cheaper, or a higher mileage 2018, knowing what I do about my car, I would go for the 2017. Of course I have not experienced a 2018. Good luck with whichever you choose. Oh, one other thing I love about my Genesis is that I don’t have to use premium gas. I assume that’s the same on both 2017 and 2018. Circle back and let us know which model you purchased.
