Glad they are so happy with: out of date NAV, weak IPod support, crummy tires, ?????? suspension, An overly long list of TSB's, cheap car dealers and a truly non existent customer support.
To be fair, many have complained in this forum about the Genesis GPS, the battery, the iPod support, the lights, the transmission, the acceleration lag, the lack of bass response, windshield wipers, etc, in addition to the suspension. I personally think almost all of these complaints are ridiculous, but I don't criticize others for posting about it.Yes, the article mentions the suspension. Yes, Hyundai has corrected it for 2010. It's just that every single thread that says anything positive about the car automatically gets a follow-up. It's tiring, to be honest. The complaints this time aren't even about the article, it's just the same old putting salt in the cereal. My Acura GPS was out of date when I bought my TL. Yanno what? The updates were slow and it cost you $200 to upgrade your GPS. That's just the way it is/was.
I haven't been on the site for six months, and even I am at the point where I feel like saying, "Oh please just do everyone a favor and trade your Genny in on that Lexus or E-Class you've been coveting."
We know you're frustrated. We know that it sucks that 2010 owners benefited from the complaints of the early adopters. But that's how it is with anything new. Hyundai probably isn't going to go back and retrofit 2010 suspensions to 2009 cars. That's just the reality of the situation. If an individual can't accept that, then it's probably best they go ahead and part with their vehicle.
Yup. I don't think I've never in my life experienced a bigger bunch of nitpicking babies than on this site. The way some of you carry on you'd think you plunked down $100k on a new S Class or something.
NEWSFLASH: NO CAR IS PERFECT.
Why anyone would expect a $40k Hyundai to be perfect is beyond me. The phrase, 'cannot see the forest for the trees' comes to mind.
Personally, I don't think the 2009 suspension is terrible, but I do think it needed some improvements. I don't loose sleep over my early 2009 suspension, but am considering getting the 2010 upgrade done. The point I think everyone is trying to make is that they are tired of the suspension comments. If there is any one thing that has been talked to death that is it. I hate the suspension in my early build 09 and mainly keep my mouth shut about it, as I F***** up and bought this car and have to deal with it. I read this and other forums and take the good with the bad in regards to this car.
My GF, friends and family tell me I am nuts and the car rides beautifully... there are hundreds of happy owners here and on other forums I frequent but, I disagree. At the end the day that is why there are other vehicles out there. IMHO if you don't like the suspension of your Genesis suck it up until you can bail out and buy something else....
