  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone else have issues with the MPG. Avg. calculator & the Road Trip mileage trackers resetting on their own? My car is doing this about once a month. I got the car in March.

There are two screens. One resets after 4 hours of inactivity. The other resets only when you manually reset. Are you saying both are?

That's right. The last '16 Genesis that I had never did this. I had to manually reset the trip meters and the only time the MPG Avg. tracker would reset was after refueling (or unless I manually reset them). These are resetting on their own.

Mine does it 2-3 times a year. You will notice the dash lights reset to full brightness also.

Sounds like a DC power issue. Maybe one of your battery clamps is loose, or the fuse on the positive one?

Mine has done this several times since I got the car in March. And, the dash lights do not revert back to full brightness, as I have them one setting below full brightness & have not had to dim them again.

Wouldn't that reset everything? Why just those 3 things?

I thought about terminals the first few times it happened but everything is tight & the battery load tests at over a thousand amps.
For me I think it is a software glitch either during shut down or start up that causes a soft reset of the instrument cluster. Since it only happens 2 or 3 times a year it is a minor inconvenience only.
I know when it happens as I normally have the center display on MPH. When I start the car and the display is on trip 1, miles set to 0, I knew it reset.

It happened to me periodically for a few months ... and it was very annoying because I meticulously record each fillup and mileage into a spreadsheet. After I had a new battery installed, the problem hasn't happened again.
