  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Only drive downhill.
There is no secret tip to get much better mileage. It is a heavy car and takes quite a bit of energy to get it moving. Short trips in cold weather can be as low as 12mpg, steady highway I've gotten 27 mpg.

Few times a year I make a trip with 2200 miles highway and 200 or so around town and use about 100 gallons.

Had a 2015 and now a 2018 and mileage under the same conditions was identical.

Just returned from an 1,195 mile trip over 6 days. Am very satisfied with mileage. Drive mode settings were: Engine/Transmission - Eco; Steering - Sport; Suspension - Comfort+.

First pic is total miles...1,195 miles and 27.2 mpg. Second pic is last day...332 miles and 28.5 mpg.

Spring Hill, TN to Atlanta to Charleston, SC. Return trip, we went Charleston, SC to Asheville, NC to Spring Hill. Handled great going through the Smokies. Super smooth and quiet. No issues.

My 2015 5.0 gets about 26 mpg on trips @ around 80-85mph like we drive here in Texas... which is actually better than my Infiniti G37 got. Car and Driver observed mpg at the time was the same @ 19 mpg for V6 & V8. Which made for me getting the V8 a no brainer.

Just drove 1400 miles from Florida to home with my 5.0 AWD. Averaged 22.3 mpg using smart cruise most of the time. Probably would get better economy using regular cruise since the smart cruise doesn't always just coast to slow down but applies the breaks going down hills or when approaching a slower moving car. I prefer the carefree smart cruise for less fatigue (first day 12hrs, second day 8hrs driving).

Not bad mileage too considering there were 4-5 times where I was playing with jokers driving "high end" cars that didn't want to let me pass them or wouldn't want to let me get in the passing lane as I approached a semi (trying to speed up to edge me out). That's when the 5.0 really shines! Love the confused and "butt hurt" look when they can't compete.
