  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mpg

I sure would like to have that beetle now. He must have left it in good shape.

2012 3.8 this weeks trip. 254 each way S. CA to Las Vegas. Genesi had 2250 miles at the start. mpg going 30.2 coming back 31.7 avg speed 75 - 80.
Another note on the way to vegas I did hit 134 MPH (only momentarily). It was still accelerating at a good rate but traffic tends to come up fast at that speed. The speed was as per the GPS in the vehicle not the speedometer. At that speed the car felt just as stable as our e class mercedes which has a govenor limiting it to 132.

I'm an old fart and one thing that has been consistent over my 60 odd years of driving is the tendency of people using MPG is a pawn in the bragging war over how many miles per gallon they get on THEIR car. The one-upmanship is always there with some people and on a forum like this, you never know whether that is a factor or not.

I have occasionally seen 28 MPG highway with my 6 cylinder. It is almost always less ... about 24 or so. Reality is just no fun.

Some folks must drive downhill both ways!
