  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had mufflers deleted and added an x-pipe on my 2011 4.6; sounded gnarly. Now on my 2015 5.0 I'm going to re-use the MSA x pipe and maybe reuse the muffler deletes, just gotta do y pipes to the quad tips. I'm just torn between going with e-cutouts or the muffler delete.

E-cutouts allow me to adjust between stock quiet or loud. What's stopping me is if I'm not sure if it's just as loud if I have it behind the pipe. This is nit picking but I prefer the exhaust gases to pass through the quad tips rather than the underside of the car. I can also save money instead of purchasing new parts. There are adjustable mufflers such as QTP Screamers, X-Force Varex and BBK Varitune but they're pricey.

With the muffler delete I loved the sound. Only times that it bothered me was the rare time I went uphill and it would drone and startups during early morning or late at night and I didn't wanna annoy my neighbors.

I probably already have an answer in my mind but I just wanted to hear the community's opinion.

You aren't kidding, I caught it on instagram.

Huddleston has exaust cut outs on his thread. This is the link, look for around page 30.

I have thought about it since Huddleston did his but i wouldn't unless I had mine tuned...couldn't stand if there was even a slight chance I might lose horsepower. Either way good luck, I'm following you on ig so I'll catch it on there for sure.

I have to say the V8 with the stock exhaust sounds like crap, especially compared to the old one with no mufflers. I guess it's just made to be quiet.

The luxury quiet aspect is nice but it's really getting on my nerves LOL. I'm doing manual cutouts with inserts so it's as loud as possible yet being adjustable and little to no change of breaking.

I am considering using vacuum cutouts that default to open, so when the vehicle is off or under heavy load (no vacuum in the intake manifold) the valves are open. Taking this idea from Mercedes, IIRC the current C-Class AMG, where they use a cutout that is open for just a split second during cranking.

So when not off/first cranking, or under wide open throttle, the valves are closed.
