  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm looking to swap out my OEM mufflers for sound. I have read through some threads that some have gone with the Dynomax VT but have seen conflicting part numbers. Has anybody switched to Dynomax Muffler or Magna Flows on their 5.0? If so what are your thoughts, satisfaction, or dissatisfaction? If you don't mine can you share the part number off the mufflers you went with? I went with Magnaflows on my Accord HFP and have been very satisfied with it. Thanks in advanced.

I have AERO mufflers on mine, with an x-pipe. If I start it up in a garage, a car alarm goes off. Sounds very deep until you step on the gas. Then it gets a bit raspy. I would compare the exhaust note to that of a C63 AMG, except a little louder.

The downside is drone...There's a lot of it when you're in ECO and regular drive mode. Sport mode sounds the best but will definitely kill your gas mileage :)

Take it to your local muffler shop and see what they can do for you.

Interesting I've never heard of Aero. Wow! I bet your ride sounds mean. I do like the sound that the AMG's make but probably don't want to go that loud. Wouldn't mine being loud when I hit it but drone drives me crazy. Thanks for the info and sharing your set up. Do you have any sound clips?

I need to make a better video but the car is currently in storage :(

Very nice. That sounds really good. I wonder of I did the same mufflers and not did the x-pipe I would not have the drone. Are you planning to reduce/eliminate the drone or are you going to leave as is? Thanks again for sharing. It does sound amazing.

Thanks! The X-pipe actually did nothing for sound lol. It wasn't until the mufflers were deleted and replaced did the true V8 sound come out. Also, the X-pipe would be giving you gains, versus a muffler delete for just sound.

The drone only bothered me the first 5-10 minutes of having it done. I wasn't use to it since the car was so quiet beforehand. Also, this is not my daily driver. It COULD be annoying if you were daily driving it. The sound is worth it for me. I would highly recommend getting an X-pipe with Aero mufflers. If you JUST do an X-pipe with a muffler delete, it'll sound like one of those annoyingly loud mustangs.

I see. Yes, this car has to be the quietest car that I have owned. This is my daily driver and I have about a 40 minute commute each way so the drone would drive me bananas. Can you feel the performance gain with the x-pipe and muffler after you installed it? Thanks again for the info. Much appreciated.
