  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Muffler Suggestions 4.6

How hard were they for your shop to install?

Welcome to the group.

What part # did you use, as it may also fit the 5.0 engine.

Also did you notice of power range with the new exhaust gain or loss?

Dave

X-pipe and exhaust jigs finally made! No drone. Low deep tone under throttle. More like a modded G37 exhaust sound. (We redid our original prototypes.) YouTube clips soon. We've already made a few X pipes, ready for coating, and have 2 full setups presold.

Trying to get the dynomax vt mufflers for Christmas. Anyone know the part # or at least the inlet/outlet measurement so I know which one to get? Seems like its a 2.25'' but I've only read on here regarding the 09-10. Just want to confirm the '11 is the same. Sounds exactly what I'm looking for. I really like the genny quietness under normal driving but when I gun it I'd like to hear that v8.

I have asked for this info also but no takers as yet. The R Spec will have a different size I believe. Also have not seen too many 5.0 engines with exhaust work done too them.

If you do a search you will find part numbers and pictures of my installation ( and others) on a 2012 r-spec. I think its in here, back a couple of pages. That's probably why no one has replied.
I think its called, "DYNOMAX VT MUFFLERS INSTALLED" This was my final post about it........ back in April or May
"If your exhaust system looks like this (from under the car) then they will be located in the same position. You need a 14" muffler, 2.25 " diam., with an offset inlet. Where the muffler exits can be adjusted with a small pipe that is bent to the proper exit point. Other brands of mufflers will work. My Dynomax part number was 17155.

I will confirm with a local 5.0 R Spec when I can. He works a lot. I'm 90% sure our system will bolt right up.

New member to the forums and not sure if anyone has posted this or not, due to my inability to find it but has anyone had issues with disconnecting their exhaust at the muffler flange? Passenger side had no issues but driver side bolt spun loose with the nut and there's no head to the bolt to further finish removal. Pleeeease does anyone have advice or experienced this too??

Best bet would be to cut the nut and bolt and hammer what's left of the bolt out. Install new bolt and nut and you should be good.
