  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My AC turned off and wouldn't kick on for 20 minutes. Why?

It was 70f yesterday. The AC just turned off and was blowing warm air for about 20 minutes before finally coming back on. This is a 2015 Genesis 3.8.
Should I be concerned about this? At first I thought "oh no, the compressor died"

How long was it running before turning off? How much air was blowing? Could have been the evaporator coil frozen.

Either way it needs a checkup.

It could be that the control valve on the compressor is failing. The valve can be replaced without replacing the compressor. Of course, you need a better diagnosis than a wild guess from the internet...

Maybe 30 minutes at full

When was the last time you had the A/C system serviced?
