  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My "Chrysler Genesis" got written up by building security for parking in a reserved

space in our garage. It was dark and I didn't see the "Reserved" sign when backing up.
Perhaps it's time for Hyundai to step up the marketing?

I'd say its time to step and say,"what Chrysler"? Case closed.

My genesis has been called a Bently! I constantly get asked about my car and if I'm using the valet or a parking garage with an attendant I get special treatment.

My friends have nicknamed the car - Faux Bently!

The actual nickname for the Genesis sedan in the beginning with the Gen 1 was a combo of Hyundai and Bentley which is a Hentley. ;)

Had a friend in from out of town Monday night. Took him for a ride in the new Genesis.

He commented on how he hadn't seen one in any commercials and we started talking about the car a bit and other cars it compared to. He thought it was comparable to a Mercedes 5 series and I mentioned that it was probably more comparable to the E350 or Chrysler 300. He looked at me kind of strange and said, "I thought this was a new Chrysler of some sort."

He had seen the wings and thought they were Chrysler wings. He really had a stunned look on his face when I told him it was a Hyundai.

Any opinion your friend has after this kind of comment pretty much makes it irrelevant.

I should have been more specific as I now realize the "5 Series" is really more of a BMW identifier than a Mercedes identifier.

He actually said S550, but I thought that he probably mis-spoke, and that he really meant E550.

Everyone thinks the Genesis is a Chrysler because of the badge. Same with Bentley. The Genesis doesn't look like a Bentley or a Chrysler in any other way.

If all you look at is the badge, a Genesis looks a lot like a Mini.;)

I can see the similarity of the Genesis wings to some other wing badges (Bentley, Aston-Martin, etc), but the Chrysler badge has a much larger wingspan and looks completely different.

You're not the only one to say this. However, the Chrysler badge has changed enough over the years that it's easy to see how people associate the Genesis badge with a Chrysler with an updated badge design...

True, I can see how some people could get confused, especially if they don't pay that much attention to cars or badges.
