  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My cost at dealer for same stock tires for 2019 G70 3.3T Sport

I'll never get tired to say the same thin, AVOID stealerships for doing anything on your cars unless is warranty related. Many, many bad stories about their irresponsible bad work, lack of knowledge and of course hyper inflated prices.

^ i generally agree, except if specialized tooling or software is required which is not common knowledge for independent shops. which is seldom the case with 95% of vehicles on the road.

to be honest, i don't think stealership 'quality' is much worse than average, but the high rates and perceived expertise tends to elevate one's expectations. so when anything but a perfect experience is realized people will react strongly - which is reasonable given the high rates.

i'll take advantage of Genesis' "free" 5 year maintenance, but anything on my own dime will be DIY or done elsewhere. i.e. i go elsewhere for my 6 month OCI which is not covered by Genesis.

I'm on the fence with this - even for the free oil changes. So far the first was okay (but I'll specify to not put my car through the paint shredder, I mean car wash) so maybe I'll get lucky on my 6 free oil changes over 3 years.
Every dealer is different but I've had good experience on the freebie oil changes. They never tried to push anything extra, the changed filters and do a pretty good check. I trust them a bit more than the quickie change places that may have never seen a Genesis.

Sage advice!

I will never change my own oil..don't have time, patience, skill set to tear it all down to do it right. I don't trust ANY quick lube place to do the job, so where does that leave things? I go to the dealer for an oil change/tire rotation/wash. It's priced fairly, they have the tools, tech info and other needed items right on site to deal with things and guess what, THEY are responsible for any problems that may arise from said change. Not the case with other 3rd part options nor do it yourself.

Same here and a couple of Hyundai dealers here in N Texas that I've always brought my vehicle to for oil changes.
Even better I can bring my own Mobil1 and they'd happily only charge me for labor & genuine oil filter.
I did bring my Genesis r-spec in just a few weeks ago before I traded her in (for the G70) for something like $28 OTD including a free car wash.
As for tires whether for servicing or purchasing new tires.
Discount Tire is the best, IMO. And I've been using DT for close to 20 years now for all of my tire needs.
Although I am still a warehouse member but I quit using Costco tire long ago. Its shop wait time has become a nightmare especially in the weekend like two+ hours.
With DT all I need to do is make my appointment on line and I can be in and out in less than an hour. Its pricing and service is second to none.
