  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

On my way to work in standard stop and go traffic. The guy approaching me from behind in a Mercedes GL350 in the adjacent lane to my left side cannot get enough of my car. I see him in my mirror trying to figure out why the heck I am driving. He passes me slowly and I see his face in his side mirror however the stop and go traffic is now stopped in front of him! He slams on the brakes at the last second and bam, rear ended the poor soul in a mega pickup truck. Not a big hit at all as in no damage that I could see. :grouphug:

LOL nice, good thing no one was hurt. I've heard about these stories with exotics and heavily modified cars but not yet with the Genesis. Are you modded at all? Any pics of this incident?

Happened to me also.... re-posted from the "Double-takes" thread... back in Sept:

Yesterday I was parked out in the open at an Office Max/Depot. I was sitting in the car with my shades on, reading the instructions on some screen cleaner I just bought and noticed a red minivan across the aisle. As I watch the van - the husband is driving and the wife is riding shotgun - not sure if there is anyone in the back...

But as they pull out of their spot they are both just straight GAWKING at the ride - which is parked with the nose facing them at an angle. Granted I had JUST finished hand detailing it - and it was a nice, sunny day - so she was lookin pretty for sure - in all her white innocence. :)

Anyhow - they are pointed to the right in their parking spot, but turning left to go the other way down the aisle. As they make the 170 degree turn from their spot & to the aisle - they are both locked on my car - kinda like how an Abrams Tank stays locked on target no matter what the lower half is doing.... yeah it was like that.

Well I was just about to raise my hand to get their attention & warn them...

When the guy drives smack into the back end of a car that had backed out a second earlier.

Maybe it's mean.... and perhaps even bad JuJu.... but I just tipped my head back down and had to snicker for a moment. :) I felt bad for the guy... but positively giddy that it was my ride that caused this situation. She was staying pretty quiet - because she was just as guilty as he was.

Really reminded me of this...

You can't see it - but the driver's head is hanging out the window and he is still gawking at the girl. I still have the original poster of this from back in the day. :)

lol well played.

The irony is, if the guy driving had a Genesis with AEB it wouldn't have happened!

LOL, I thought the same thing a moment after when he hit the pickup truck.

i like what you did to the wheels....

I wish the US still had any 5.0s.....
