  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My Genesis Door Unlocked notification

….probably 95% of departures from the car the driver would want it locked. ...😀
Almost 50% of my departures I do not want my car locked (at home, in my garage).
Currently, I handle this by not touching the lock button on the outside door handle when I get out at home. The other 50% of the time, I do press the lock button on the outside door handle when I get out of the car. It's not too bad, I have to shut the door anyway, so I am already at the right place to easily touch the button.

Same.

I prefer the lock on the button on the door handle. My hand is already there or close to there when I am exiting - no big deal to push it.

Such as in my garage. I just put the reusable shopping bag in for next trip. Later I will put a package in it. I may get my sunglasses out of it. I don't see the benefit for me.
If you have ever done a hand wash with the FOB in your pocket, you know the horrors of the auto-approach!

Why would you have locked your car while washing it?

I don’t think it is locked. I am just getting out of the driver’s side and starting the car wash with the FOB in my pocket. But every time you go from front to back the mirrors are going in and out several times during the entirety of the wash. It is just doing the “auto-approach/prepare for entry” routine several times as the FOB gets out of range and back in range I believe.

Or maybe the pressure of the wash is hitting the door handle buttons? Not 100% sure but I can assure you the mirrors were going in and out. Maybe it knows it was being washed and was hinting to clean behind the ears.

My GV70 has a way to stop the locking/unlocking while washing the car manually under "Accessing Your Vehicle" in Chapter 5 Convenience Features. Check somewhere in your G90 manual for something similar.

My G80 only folds the mirrors in if it is locked, so it only unfolding them if I approach it when it is locked. Are you certain that yours does this while it is unlocked?

Are you mirror normally folded when the car is off? Sounds like your car is locked
