  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a "new" never titled demo with 5200 mi--platinum, black, premium plus. Generally love the car. I've read most of the comments on this forum, particularly re: the suspension and I can't say that I have experienced the issues reported by some. Mine is an early build (June '08) and is extremely quiet and absorbs most bumps well. The handling is fine for a car of it's size/weight. I had previously owned only German cars--VW, Audi--my two most recent being a 1996 V6 A4 with a sport suspension and a 2003 A4 1.8T with the sport suspension and 18" rims/Goodyear Eagle F1s. Both cars handled very well but given the setup, were indeed stiff. I don't see much difference with the Genesis, though it's obviously not as "tossible" given it's size. Where it does exceed the Audis is in isolation. I used to avoid pot holes like the plague, and though I continue to do so, I no longer wince and clench my teeth in anticipation of those I cannot avoid. I would be curious to know from those who have problems with the suspension, what cars they came from. Other comments: The seats cushions are too soft for my liking and in my opinion, might add to the bouncy/oscillating feeling some have experienced. Seat travel could also be increased. Height adjustment for the passenger should be included. Fit and finish is great. The overall exterior styling is superb. Love the short overhang in front of the front wheels. Stereo (14 speaker) is wonderful. Paint finish appears to be excellent, though I have a sneaking suspicion that one of my doors may have been damaged at the port or in transition and repainted. The repaint is of excellent quality though the shade is slightly off when viewed under low light and at a certain angle (I'm going to take it up with the dealer shortly). That's all for now.

Welcome to the group.....glad to hear you are happy w/ your Genesis. I agree with everything you said, right down the the seats. I was surpised to find out the new Subaru Legacy midsize sedan has tons more available legroom than my Genesis. I really wish the seat when back at least another inch. And the lack of a height adjustable passenger seat is disappointing.

There is always room for improvement. :) Hopefully they'll address some of the shortcomings as part of the refresh for 2011: http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2009/08/spy-photos-hyundai-genesis-refresh-coming.html
