  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I Just wanted to add my experience with my 2025 3.5 GV80 and it's underwhelming ride quality.

I initially had the 22" wheels and i found the ride to be jarring for a luxury suv compared to my sisters 2024 RX350 and to my moms 2024 Kona (shockingly comfortable and smooth).

The GV80 has a tendency to hit potholes pretty rough and i can feel the entire car judder from any rough surfaces while driving. I test drove 2 other GV80s with the same wheels and they all felt the same so that rules out a lemon.

I have decided today to change the wheel size from 22 to 20 with Hankook ventus s1 evo3 tires. The ride became a bit softer but i feel the car became more floaty as well. Something like 15% softer but 15% floatier. Overall my experience with GV80 is very good except for lackluster suspension and underwhelming ride comfort that's still not as good as the Lexus or the BMW or Benz.

TLDR Overall the suspension isn't bad but it's not luxurious as i expected and definitely not as comfy as an RX350 or similar benzes and beemers. and the change of the wheels from 22 inch to 20 inch barely made any difference to the comfort.

ADDED INFO : Also just putting it out there. My friend has a 2023 GV70 with 21" wheels and his car feels a more comfortable (tho not as comfortable as the lexus rx, more on par with g80 sedan and BMW x3) than my 20" GV80. So im assuming genesis suspension isn't as good for the heavy weights and better tuned for lighter weight cars.

Do you have Prestige trim level? Not sure about the 2025's, but in earlier years those have an adaptive suspension with Road Preview. I ultimately went with an Advanced trim level, partly because I thought the ride was better. I initially assumed it was the 20" vs 22" tires and wheels, but based on some other posts here, I think the active suspension may be at least part of the difference.

I have a 2021 GV80 3.5 Advanced+ on 22's and a completely agree. The ride can be pretty jarring on rough pavement and feel 'floaty' when engaged in spirited driving, particularly when cornering. IMO, this is aligned with the general consensus that the GV80 is definitely more geared towards luxury whereas the Germans in this segment are geared more towards the sporty end of the spectrum.

Albert bierman made it too stoff because he wanted the 22s to have wheel contol. Helps with curves, i usually take mines around a particular highway curve at 80-90 no problem.
