  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I feel this is necessary before I continue to report on the 2015 Genesis, I'm truly passionate about the car and believe it has come a long ways since 2009. I've found myself in a unique situation (for me at least) as a customer to spend some quality time getting to know her, in both the V6 HTRAC and 5.0 Ultimate models. Having now logged over 1500 miles in the V8 and around 700 miles in the HTRAC it's given me some time to truly kick the tires and provide what I hope is useful information for our forums.

I don't know it all or even remotely claim to, what I do promise though is I will remain unbiased in my posts about this car......be it good or bad. If I get something wrong I appreciate being corrected and always look forward to peoples replies, it takes the community as a whole to keep this information coming. I'm always happy to go test something out in the car if there are questions and will continue to reply back as quickly as I can.

I know at least two people within HMA read what I have to say, though I don't know what influence they have within the company. I feel that without honest feedback things don't get changed/fixed, hopefully some of this information actually gets to the right people.

Appreciate the posts and your desire to remain unbiased to new car euphoria. Very helpful to many of us as we consider this new model.

I ditto the comment above. Your posts are spot on and I like the fact that you continue to post the good with the bad. Much appreciated and keep it coming.

A forum is only as good as it's posters. Let's face it, with out us, there would not be a forum. And you my friend, are one of the best.

Thanks :) I appreciate the kind words and always look forward to reading everyone's posts, be it about the car or off topic fun stuff...it all makes the community a better place IMO.

Your input & impressions are very much appreciated, as I continue to decide on my next car. Since I have never owned a Hyundai, your reviews are quite valuable to me personally. Keep'em coming. ;)

Thanks. Now promise you'll tell us how you have driven so many miles in a '15 Genesis if you don't own one and you are not employed by Hyundai, or a Hyundai dealer. I must have missed the post where you explained all that. ,-)

The quest for truth isn't always pretty.

You did miss it, a couple of times over lol....I'm just a customer and friend of the dealership who's been lucky enough to bring it around to some of the car shows where I live, some of these shows are over 100 miles away. I also got the opportunity to be at an HMA Disney event which was super fun. The cars go back to them each week, I don't own it and all the risk is still placed on my insurance should something happen to them. I answer questions and if they are genuinely interested in the car I give them a brochure with a flyer in it that potentially helps the dealer drum up some sales. The dealer is giving an extra $500 off on top of any other incentives being offered, of which I get a finders fee (this was their idea not mine, I never asked for a dime to do this). They pay for the gas in the car plus any car washes it might need to stay looking pretty

For me the real payment comes from driving the car, showing it off and getting to look at other nice cars at these events. As a result of that it gives me an opportunity to post what I've learned about the car over the last month and hopefully help out the community.....I consider it the best test drive ever without having the sales person in your ear !!! :D

I too have never owned a Hyundai...and it was a big step for me because like it not, I have been one to have been influenced by the high brand names (BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar). I've owned all these 3 brands in in BMW and Jaguar's case, I've owned over 2 of those. Considering Hyundai was as big step to me because it felt like a lower brand. There's several things I couldn't ignore...the warranty, the inexpensive maintenance, the interior upgrade, the car design and the technology (especially the technology). My BMW 7 didn't have near what this car provides. The ride was smooth and the cabin quiet. I've had my V8 now for almost 3 weeks and I have to say, I'm really impressed overall despite the noted shortcomings of the car and some of the technology (voice commands). I have an inside contact at Fletcher Jones Mercedes...the larges Mercedes dealer in CA and almost bit that the CLS-550, but again could not ignore some of the actual things that were better about the Genesis. No car is going to be perfect in every aspect and even it were, there will be those that find fault since a lot of likes an dislikes are subjective. I'm continually finding new things that amaze me. For example, this morning while arriving at the gym I had to take a sharp turn into the parking spot and left my tires at an angle. When I started my car and put it into reverse, I had a graphic displayed with a warning sound to straighten out my tires before backing. This car has a lot of preventative technology and it is truly amazing the detail they have put into this car in that regard.

That is a cool option that I haven't read anywhere regarding your mention of the wheels being turned. Pretty cool. Thanks for the detailed report regarding your recent purchase. Helps us that are still pending purchase of new Genesis. I have never owned a high end car so for me, the new 2015 Genesis will be my first even though some say it is not high end. For me it will be :D

Acecert: Your feedback is also very helpful & appreciated (especially coming from a 7 series) As for me, I would much rather be a trendsetter with something new & different. That's exactly what attracted me to the Genesis when it first appeared. Keep'em coming too Ace! ;)
