  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Myers hyundai/service problems

Mark:

OP went to the dealer, they serviced his car, poked a hole in the lexicon speaker grid as well as damaged the outside of his car. After several complaints and some of the dealership employees being on this forum, the dealership told him they would fix it but he wasn't allowed back. They have now taken him back and will fix the panel.

You're welcome in advance.

OFG
Thanks.

Solution for the OP: get Hyundai Canada's customer care phone number. Call it. Explain story. Send photos and receipts. Get HMC to authorize repair at the other dealer.

Called hyundai canada. They are useless! They wont autorize repairs and wont investigate. I was told hyundai canada cant do anything to dealers as they are independently owned

Very strange. In the USA, there is an Equus/Genesis "Hot Line" that tries to solve problems. If they broke it, they should fix it...period.

Are you saying that Hyundai Canada doesn't seem to care that one of their Genesis dealers is screwing around with a new car customer?

Do you have it in writing that they admit to messing up your car??

If a dealer damages a car during service, that has nothing to do with Hyundai Canada, or Hyundai Motors Korea. Hyundai does not own the dealers (and in fact, manufacturer's are usually prohibited from owning any dealers), and the dealership is operated as separate businesses.

I am guessing that the dealer management wasn't sure who damaged the car, and probably who ever did it, lied about it. At one time or another, I suspect that dealers have had customers bring in damaged cars, and the customer claimed the dealer did it.

Please note that I am not blaming the customer or trying to let the dealer off the hook. I personally avoid going to a dealer for service unless I have no other choice.

I called the equss and genesis hotline. They were useless maybe because i bought it used and am the second owner?

As shown in the story in my OP they did not admit to the damage and nothing is and was in writing, plz read thr OP

I never said that they admitted to anything. I said their first inclination was probably that the damage was pre-existing.

Again, I don't understand what this has to do with Hyundai Canada. You need to understand the business relationship between a manufacturer and a dealer.
