  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Let me start by saying I've got a 2010 without Tech. I have a touch screen NAV system.

On this system you can enter the state, city, number, and then street. So I entered a known address that way and it could not find the street? In desperation I entered the street before the city and it gave me a couple of options with one of them being the city that I was looking for. I asked myself why could it find it one way and not the other?

The only answer I could come up with it when you enter the city it eliminates the outlying areas and only gives you downtown. It you enter the street first, it provides the greater city area.

How does that sound for an explanation or am I all wet? Do you have a better explanation? Can we ask the company that did the NAV?

Hi Sully;
Welcome to the bizarre world of Hyundai. Great car but Nav system designed by a Tibetan monk with a full frontal lobotomy who only communicates in Swahili.
Check out the threads on this site related to the Nav system and you will see a lot of confusion, frustration and anger-none of which has ever been mitigated or acknowledged by Hyundai in any way. the tech package Nav system is no better than what you have. Have to enter a city name before a street-what moron thought of that? Do you have any idea how many cities in NY have a Main street??
Wait till you try to find an update for the Nav data- big surprise in store for you, but wish you luck.

I think you meant to say above, "Have to enter a street name before a city".
Thats how mine works. (after setting the State of course.) If there is only one street with that name in that State, that is where it sends you. If there are more than one streets with that name in that State, it then asks you to choose the city from a list of cities.

I have no problems with that.

I agree on the "Good Luck on updates".

No updates yet with the Tech. If/when there is an update, it will take three hours to update. Insane.

Don't know about updates on the Touch Screen, but some have said that it also will take a while to update.

Wish the updates were as easy as my former MKZ. Purchased a disc, removed the old disc, installed the new disc. Took all of two or three minutes, and I keep the disc.

BTW gperzel, did you buy at Fuccillo or Vision? Have you had either of them service your car? Are you happy with their service? Just want to know for the day I'm up in Penfield and need service.

I can enter a city before a street. When I select Destination and then address, I have buttons (touch screen) that allow me to select state, city, etc. The problem is if I select city first, it doesn't find the street but if I select street, it provides the city that is correct! It finds it one way and not the other?

Hi Guys;
Correction as noted- meant to say "need to enter street before city".
CTRCBOB: Purchased mine from Vision in Canandaigua on 332. Had it in for NAV update (long story-see other Nav threads) which took 3 days (not dealer fault-factory rep screwed up) and oil change which took 20 minutes!-no charges for anything. I sense that they do not have much experience with Gennys and not sure any of the dealers do .
