nav setting what does it mean ? anybody know what it does ? ?

the nav has a setting for ferry what does it do ? can it help me set the nav to take tolls and not free bridge ? I live in nyc and can't get my nav to take tolls or highways ---it always takes me the way of streets and free bridges much longer in time ---dealer does not have answer ???? anybody have a hyundia number I could call

I think your answer is in the DIS manual. I recall reading a section about the options and they are several settings in the menu. I set mine up a few months ago when I got the 2011. I don't remeber the details since I set it up and have since left it alone.

Ferry - I would assume this means taking a boat across water...

These are always fun. It is cool to see your cars nav move across the water without actually driving.

By default, the nav system tries to route you without using ferry boats if at all possible - basically relegating ferry boats to "the last resort" for route planning. Having this function "activated" lets ferry boats have no special benefit/penalty compared to other roads: if a ferry is the shortest route to your destination, you'll get a boat ride.
