  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mongo,

Sorry can't do 20% but maybe a buck or two off shipping for ya! :D

Susanne,
I'm interested in the VIM for my Genesis V8/Tech package.
How much would my total be "including shipping" to Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Hope you can help me out with the shipping!:(

Thanks in advance

ATTENTION FORUMERS:

Don't forget Tuesday is the last day for the 10% off.

That is a real shame, For some the expense if not trivial and I still have a un-answered question or 2.

1.When the system is utilized but without being activated do the USB, Ipod and Aux in port currently on the Genesis sedan still function as originally.

2. When you do activate it do I have to pre disconnect items I may have in these ports now.

3. Have you any clear pictures of what it looks like after the removal of the CD changer? The pics posted re. installation are a bit dim and small.

Thanks you for you work, I am a very interested buyer. Grip :D

New Subject ----

I just got off the phone with Susanne, requesting that her electronics people look into producing some kind of module to allow the FOG LIGHTS to come on when only the parking lights are on.

As the Genesis is now, you must have the headlights on for the fog lights to come on, and I don't like this. My past two cars allowed me to put on the fog lights with only the parking lights on.

Two reasons for my request.

First is that the car looks great with just the fogs (and parking lights) on.

Second is that if the headlights must be on, in fog, (after all, they are called fog lights!), the light from low beam headlights gets reflected back into your eyes, but with just fogs on, the light is low, and allows you to see better.

I told Susanne if/when her company makes something like this, I will order it (or if I can talk my wife into us taking a drive down to Boca, getting it installed there). She said she will get back to me, even though I told her there is no hurry.

The Genesis vim is $399-$39.90 10% discount. It is impossible
to determine the shipping anywhere without actually processing it.
I can estimate about $30-50to Canada. We do send a nafta form
to aide in the duty fees

Ctrcbob,

I spoke to the engineers and they said that a module
would not be required for what you want to do.
They said find a REALLY GOOD installer, and they should
be able to add a switch and that should work for you.

Gripper Don,

I am confused about your questions. None of the things you
mentioned are required for use of our Genesis vim.
You do not disconnect the cd changer, you do not lose
any of the factory features, you do not unplug any of them either.
You simply unplug the factory radio harness plug it into our harness and plug
our harness back into where the radio harness came our of.

Here is a part of our instructions to explain a little of the install.
6.
Remove factory fiber optic line from factory harness connector.
7.
Insert fiber optic line into T-harness. (Radio side).
8.
Plug T-harness into radio, the other end of the T-harness into factory harness connector.

Thanks

When I test drove the car and did a walk-around, we got into a conversation with the sales folk and service manager about that. It's ridiculous. Just as you wrote, in true fog conditions, the best forward visibility can often be achieved by using just the fog lights without the headlights.

That's the only issue that I actually took time to write Hyundai over.

Zppreciat you making it clear, I did not want to loose the regular function of the IPod, Use or Aux in. You did a good job of making it clear.

I would still appreciat any pinctues that are a bit bigger and less dark showing the connecting behing the CD changer. Thanks again trying to get $ to buy it before you go off special. GripperDon

Susanne,

H1N1 Bug?

Per post #6 above, you must call her on the phone to receive the discount. You can't get the discount via the online order form.

That is correct. Actually even when the 10% is gone, I would
really like it if you all call me directly to place orders. I am not the one
who processes the internet orders and I can help you better when I
keep track of the orders. Thanks

Congrats to GCARPER! He was the first person from the forum
to purchase the genesis vim interface. I am sure he will post next
week after he installs it.

Hey Suzanne,

Does the vim work with any video source such as an ipod? Or just DVD's ?

It simply activates the exsisting dvd/video in motion.

So is that a No you cannot watch video from you iPod when its plugged into the NAV system, just DVD's in the player? Just want clarification to assist in my decision to pick one up.

Are you able to watch video now from the iPod in park on the nav screen?
