Navi questions.

I'm so confused, I'll make this quick. Is there any way to get alternative route options? I tried every possible way like deselecting all route options like traffic, tolls, highways etc. The problem is my navi system only gives me two route Fast and slow which 90% of the time are same :-/ this is crazy like if you want to go from certain state or city there is literally no way. In my old car you can just click on "More result" and it would give you 4-5 different route then I use to use my google maps to see the one with less traffic and then select that. So basically there is no way to do this in genesis. If any one of you can figure this out plz share.
Or I just I just have to wait for Android auto/carplay.

Also what is the difference between emphasize road and background in navi settings?

See page 85 of the DIS Navigation System manual. Route Info/Avoid options. It allows you to select the street(s) you want to avoid. To use the Way point option, see pages 71 thru 73 of the manual. I could not find anything in manual regarding the "emphasize road or background in the Navi Settings". Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Yea I tried that already but trust me its really hard to do that if you going on a road trip. Last week I was traveling to MD from NY and the navi took me through the weridiest route and it doesn't matter if you avoid one or two streets cz it will bring you back to where navi wants you to go, its just the algorithm sucks. There is no alternative route options which sucks in a high tech car like this. My only hope is android auto.

I have a Garmin that I take when I'm out on a road trip. It seems to do a much better job at routing and the maps are always up to date.

I have tried the waze app it's nice but more like a Disney maps lol . but I dont think they will add that in android auto. Who know maybe its google company anyways.
The mapping app I would prefer right now and the best in the market is "here" maps they have the best and most simplest navigation. Reminds me of google maps 5 years ago which use to be very straight forward. Now Google maps are so laggy filled with so much crap. I can't complain cz that how google maps money by showing ads

Just want to share my road trip to Maryland from NY. The route it gave me was the worse. I use google navi most of the time.(which I believe is the best navi in the world) and I had igo primo in my Camry and that was really good too. The worst part of Genny navi is there is no alternative route options. I mean WTH why not. It was only giving me fast and short and both of them where exactly the same. I was going crazy last night. They should atleast give you options for different route. Like my Camry system use to give fast,green,easy,fast2,fast3,easy2 I mean literally I use to have 5-6 options and then I use to compare it with google navi with less traffic and select that. I know it software issues and hope it get fixed with update.

My only hope is google auto/carplay . and I think hyundai didn't want to do much efforts on navi part cz they where thinking that we will have google navi eventually so and 90% owner will use that only so why waste time on system navi. This is what I think.
