  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am the happy and proud owner of a new 2020 G70 3.3T. I have two questions:

1. Is there any way to tun off navigation midway other than "Pause route?"

2. When playing music on my iphone via bluetooth can I change artists without doing it on the phone?

Any help will be appreciated.

First congrats on the new purchase! Just long press the pause route icon and it’ll cancel the route and secondly for the artists changes! Just select the CarPlay feature in the split screen mode, then select the back icon on the screen to go to the list of features mimicked on your phone ( not from your phone) such as playlists, songs, artists and so forth, select artist then you are all set.

Thanks so much for the info. So I guess those changes can only be made in carplay and not in bluetooth?

Welcome! What color did you get?

You still can select the various artists through Bluetooth also! That’s with and without connecting via cable.

I always use voice recognition command. as much as possible.
Press the voice command key and say "cancel route".
Music streaming via your phone BT has its bandwidth limitation.
To me it sounds bad.
I either use USB jump drive or stream from Spotify via Android Auto. AP in your case.
I'd recommend comb through a few pages in the owner's manual to learn more about your new ride.
This car is a hi-tech laden so it's worth reading thru the manual something I rarely did in my previous car.

I can’t get the Bluetooth to allow me to select playlists, etc. either on an iPhone. Not sure how the poster above is doing it. It also doesn’t show the album cover, unless I am doing something wrong. I am really disappointed in the BT functionality on this car. My five year old BMW allows full searching and playlists on BT and shows the album cover. To not have that on a 2020 vehicle that is a pretty expensive car is a bit silly.

I totally agree. My 2017 BMW allowed complete Apple Car Play function without a USB cable. This is very disappointing. Looks like you need the "CPLAY2" wireless adapter to do that, and even that has it's own problems. I always thought that Japan and Korea were way ahead of the Germans in terms of technology.

Same here....this is the most disappointing feature for this car. It drives me nuts I have to pull out my phone to change playlists/artists/albums via Media/Bluetooth. My 2016 VW GTI was smart enough to change whatever music you wanted via BT and worked really well. For a $45k-$50k car this is kind of unacceptable to not have this feature. Ive been looking into this Wireless Carplay Dongle to get around this.

I don't like the lack of Apple Play on bluetooth, but it's not that bad. Plug your phone into the center console with this (Amazon.com: TT&C Short iPhone Cable Charger [ 6 inches ] Sync and Charging Data Cord Compatible with iPhone 11/ Xs/Xs Max/Xr/X/8/8 Plus/7/7 Plus/6s/6/5/iPad (White)) short lighting cord, enable Apple Play, and pro-tip...set your utility dash button for 'screen mirroring' or whatever it's called. With the shorter cords, closing the center console slide is an easy task and if you don't close it it's easier on the eyes. I like the 'speak' button on the steering wheel summoning Siri. Only thing is that it kind of negates the need for the qfi device charging.

Wireless CarPlay would be awesome. I would be happy enough with the ability to scroll through my music on the Bluetooth function of the infotainment. In the mean time I got a cable similar to the 6" cable above, except this one has a 90 degree angle and its slightly longer. You can plug the phone in and stow it away in the wireless charger with the door closed for a clean look. Took me like 3-4 tries to find the right cable with just enough length to plug and unplug easily while still being able to fit with the door closed. 90deg Iphone cable - .65ft

Just purchased that cable.

You know, I like that one better. 90 degree angle will be super nice...ordered! Thanks.
