Navigation car symbol question

Seems like I remember that the car symbol on my Navi screen used to be just the orange/ red triangle. Now it has a gray circle around it. Am I just not straight on this; did it always have the circle?

Any help would be appreciated.

Nope....... just the triangle.

Mine used to have just the triangle but, now has a gray circle around the triangle. If anyone know how to get back to the triangle only I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!
